TOPIC: Origins postpones to October

I called the Origins hotel reservation people. I was told that they are waiting on confirmation, then will send out an email with instructions about hotel reservations. Assuming that goes out soon, I'll worry about changing flights after that.

Hotels might be tough since it is a home football game weekend for Ohio State.

Ouch. That was a major oversight.

Wasn't able to get a downtown room for June (decided to go too late), but am already booked for October. Can still cancel up until day before con if I change my mind.

Agree, going to be a wait and see if this bug flares up again and for people to judge the risk of traveling. Realistically i'd hope we see stuff like MLB and concerts 1st a bit just to see with large group events that this crisis is over.
Honestly I'd love to make any con this year at this point but got to be safe to do so. If I have a choice/it comes to it i'd take GHC over Origins despite Origins being my local con. Detest that event system for non TD stuff that much.

Hmm, I was hoping they could just move all the bookings but maybe not if there's not enough rooms. On FB they said they are going to try to move the bookings (unless people can't make it of course). I think I'll just be patient and wait and see.

I'm still planning to attend as I don't have a conflict that week thankfully, assuming TD still attends.

Origins and GHC are a month apart still so I'd hope that's enough time for TD.

2nd biggest home game of the Season against Iowa.

Already cancelled my booking through onpeak and booked a room directly just in case a concert I am planning to attend is moved. Otherwise no Origins this year. October is not a good month to move a convention into.

I doubt I'll go, but I booked a room as a backup just in case GENCON is cancelled.

I'm glad Origins is not outright cancelled, I was not too hopeful with 5/1 date. It's way better and more enjoyable than GC. Like everyone else I'm bummed about this being moved but happy it's still on. As long as TD is going I'll be there, if not there is no point for me.

If the choice for TD is Origins or GHC, Origins all the way! GHC is a nice Con but it' gets old fast with it's limitations.

Rooms have been rescheduled...now we wait and see.

I am glad they just postponed Origins, but it drops right on Mississinewa weekend, which is the "Gencon" for early 19th century/War of 1812 re-enactors. Which, if you havent guessed by my avatar, I am one. I wonder what will be for big conventions and sporting events. After 3-6 months of being freaked out about being within 6' of another human, will these draw, or allow big crowds? Got to wonder.
