Since Gen Con is my annual vacation, and over the last 38 years I have taken/introduced in excess of 100+ different gamers to the experience, I see a lot of people just at that convention alone. Although I do miss the simpler days of Gen Con in Milwaukee and some great German food like Mader's, the move to Indianapolis has allowed our gaming group to develop new traditions.

Gen Con
1. Wednesday Night Gaming. We usually do some food and go thru all our quick con group games. Last year was spent making builds for a group of 9 and spreading out the UR's
2. Thursday. Gen Con Auction in the morning. As a long time auction seller/worker/record holder, it is awesome seeing friends there. The enormity of the exhibit floor eats up a lot of the day and into the evening. Though last year, we did our first large group TD run that afternoon and met the incomparable JEDIBCG who is most gracious and generous.
3. Friday nights we try to sneak in a group dinner, almost always at Chammps over in the Mall, the wife needs her Mile High Nachos. The restaurant has been very accommodating for groups
4 Saturday is the Costume Contest that afternoon followed by more food and some libations.
5. Sunday. Collect money from selling at the auction, hit the exhibit floor and spend some of that money.

Gaming of course is squeezed in every nook and cranny. I only wished I discovered True Dungeon sooner/ years earlier than 2015. Wish I was younger and didn't need to sleep like I used to.

We try to play 2-3 TD runs on Thursday, Afterwards, we walk to The South Bend Chocolate Co, at Monument Circle to have ice cream for dinner. I really like killing some monsters and rewarding myself with a sundae.

I will have to remember that for next Gen Con! Ice cream rulez.

I miss the frozen custard of Milwaukee.....

It's cold for that during GHC.

Heresy. It’s never too cold for ice cream. Or frozen custard. Otherwise we would never eat it in Wisconsin

Culver’s s everywhere now. Including the Indianapolis area. Or If you drive a bit to Ritters on US 31 in Franklin or County line Road in Greenwood you can get your fix.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Culver’s doesn’t really count... Leon’s in Milwaukee is the real deal.

Wait a sec, did Chammps move to the mall. I thought it was closed?

Sartre sits in in a coffee shop and asks for a coffee without cream. The barista apologizes “Sorry, we don't have any cream. Can I offer you a coffee without milk instead?”

Wade, I'm older than you are and lived in California a lot longer than you. It is with that experience that I must declare you ... a wuss. :P

Seriously, though. My favorite thing to do at a con other than TD is just hanging with my Blue Brothers from morning until late at night.
