TOPIC: Taken Bag

Taken Bag 5 years 4 months ago #13

My story.
I was in TD HQ when Lori
Was telling the story to Lucus oil staff
( my heart sank for you)
I was walking up to check out of shift( transmutes) and check
Right back in as AC ..when either Kim or Kelly said someone drop of a
Bag they had picked up by mistake.
I grabbed said bag. Opened the pouch. Saw CoAs and said it must be Jedi’s.
I then said I am taking back to HQ.
Yelled
Yelled your name first. You didn’t answer. Yelled if anyone had
Your number and Shane said he would
Text you for me and tell you.

I was in right place at
The right time or it would have been a lot longer before they got you message that it was found.
HQ was the safest place to take the bag( other than with me)

That's a double scary story, firstly for your loss, secondly to think someone in the community would make off with it. Glad to hear it was innocent and resolved quickly.

I’m really glad you got your bag back. I would have a heart attack if that happened to me, and my stuff isn’t as good as yours. I’m glad our overall community is as honest as it is.

Reminds me of back in the years when TD tavern existed, and someone had his bag full of M:TG cards taken (including Power 9 cards IIRC).

Wasn't actually stolen - he had left it at a table and gone to speak to someone else... one of the tavern staff helpfully set it behind the bar so it wasn't sitting there unattended. But then the staff member went off shift & didn't tell anyone about the bag. He had a 4-digit reward out for the bag, before we managed to figure out what had happened to it. He was able to pick it up from TD HQ the next day, but I believe he had to cancel for the tournament that he'd come to play.

Still, I am glad I know more stories of people misplacing bags in TD than having them actually stolen.

As a long time magic player I have learned when sitting down to always have a loop of my bag around my leg or under the chair I’m sitting on. It is way to easy for someone to pick up a bag next to you or underneath you and have seen to many people get there bags taken to risk it.

I am so glad this all worked out. I also don't have nearly as much as you do, but am constantly checking for my bag so it doesn't get misplaced or "taken". I know when we checked out of the hotel on Sunday my friend wanted to know if I was going to leave it in bag check or if I wanted him to put it in the trunk of his car. I said no to both. It doesn't leave my person until I'm home.
