An interesting note from todays email about token purchase deadline. A clue?

We have come a long way since our humble beginnings at a small Hyatt ballroom in 2003. We have had such a great time, and we have made some wonderful friends on that journey. Thank you all for allowing us to continue to bring our adventures to Gen Con.

Is Hyatt ballroom at GenCon? Could be where we need to take the fragments.

O snap! You may be right. Does anyone remember which ballroom it was? Here is a map to hopefully jog someone's memory.

Just grabbed my 2003 gencon event book. Flipping through it to see if the event is listed.

Here’s a forum post I found with true dungeon’s timeline that was made by MikeSteele.

That Mike Steele post is interesting, because this line:

• According to Jeff Martin, the first True Dungeon in 2003 was a last-minute thing; there was no promotion for it. It wasn't even in the program book. We weren't even in the Gen Con ticketing system.

Is obviously incorrect since there was a full page add for True Dungeon in the 2003 book.

*Edit*
Per the 2004 Event book, there are TD events listed as the Hyatt 2nd floor.

*Edit 2*
It was on the 2nd floor in the Regency Ballroom, sponsored by Wizards of the Coast

Jedi is correct. It was stated by Jeff somewhere in a post that the nuggets would not be transmuted. Anyone correct me if i’m wrong or missed a later update to that statement.

As far as a new CoA. I think the closest thing we have to that in the future is a transmuted that will require AoTF and two other TE tokens that will come out in the next 5 years. Again, please anyone correct me if I’m wrong.

You're correct. We don't know if the 2023 and 2025 TE URs are new or reprints, or if the 2026 transmute is new or a CoA reprint.

According to an Event spreadsheet I found they had moved to the Marriot by 2005. The 2004 spreadsheet has events listed but not the location.

Also interesting to see that those first few years the Event system at least called it "Gen Con's True Dungeon".

Thanks!

I have the event books for every Gen Con I've been too, excluding the first 3 I attended (my mom threw out 1988-1990, otherwise I have 1991-2018)
