In days of yore, quite long before
The humans came to plunder more
A relic forged from goods of trade
By ancient hands the thing was made

Alas, for now, the method’s gone
To craft this fine phenomenon
‘Twas fractured by a hand of bronze
And now it’s just some polygons

This whole section sounds like it's referring to Dave. Dave has taken a "permanent" break from Token transmuting. Maybe he's coming back for GenCon and will be transmuting special Tokens in the Marriott.

I like the simplicity in this thinking as it almost seems like overthinking may have set in and I really, really miss miss Dave. Always great to talk to, nice guy and the All Father of Tokens. (On another note, anyone else notice since he has been gone the Treasure pulls at every Con since have been "lacking"?)

You know what they say about going home again :(

I know the saying but lol I don't know man, I go home to my home state of South Jersey, my old house and have a blast every time plus the Pizza and Pretzels 10,000 times better than Chicago. Sometimes the old shoes are more comfy!

Sorry, but Chicago has way better pizza then Jersey.

LOL I grew up right outside out of Philly (I also lived in CA so I tasted it all in the US) and I respectfully disagree. Chicago Pizza is awful it's either a Cheese Brick or a Cracker. I'll take Neapolitan any day and I miss Sicilian Style. East Coast blows away the rest. Chicago food overall is great...just not the Pizza lol.

I am familiar with crop rotation as a concept, though not with the specifics. Which is why the cornfield in questions was chosen because it is only ever used as a corn field. Why doesn't this particular farmer rotate? You'd have to ask them.

Please say this should have been written in teal...

'The Morrow Plots occupy a central position on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ... The two northernmost plots have been continuously planted in maize (corn) since 1876.'

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morrow_Plots

is it also a graveyard?

Umm a word of knowledge to follow up on this... University of Illinois also built its Undergraduate Library underground because they couldn't let it block the sun from falling on the corn... And there is a very funny and much sung song about it by a University singing group.

Any reason why you numbered the last line 780 instead of 789?

Yes - now I have a secret from you!

Actually, it was a typo.

You don't have to outrun the monster, just the guy next to you - The buddy system.

Evil Dave? Does not compute, Dave = Good. :)

Ask a few members of the DDA about "Evil Dave"... was a funny story about Dave when he was a DM.

Making a prediction based on just about nothing, lol. I am thinking it will be a relic heavy box, similar to the year we had Whirt's Box. Maybe you get to turn in a set of fragments ala the treasure maps and then get to draw from the box?

It is very possible someone else previously suggested this. I am pretty sure someone did but I don't remember now. And I thought (again could be completely incorrect) that someone(s) came up with a reason why this was not likely. I now think it has merit, but only because I cannot remember why it didn't seem likely....lol. Getting old means you can work on puzzles you have already solved. :D
