Rob F wrote: Ok so here's my guess. I'm guessing that the transmute for these fragments is an enchanters whetstone. I remember when I got my tokens this year there was a sticky tab on one of the pages in the QTR guide.
And Druger posted something about things being hidden in plain sight. I'll have to check my QTR guide when I get home but if the tab is on the page with the whetstone I'm guessing that's the shape of the fragments once they are put together. Plus part of the riddle mentions the relic being assembled from goods of trade.

Attempting to decode parts of the poem below.

Of course, the phrasing might have nothing to do with my speculations - it may be there just to make a rhyme, or have a significance I am not guessing.

In days of yore, quite long before
The humans came to plunder more

Were there a few years at the very beginning where there were no treasure tokens awarded with the run? If so maybe this refers to that year / prior to that year.

It could also refer to prior to:
* 2007 - Year of Horn of Plenty
* 2015 - Year of Charm of Avarice, Amulet of Treasure Finding, Lenses of Fortune

And less probably:
* 2011 - Year of Ring of Riches
* 2013 - Year of Charm of Good Fortune
* 2017 - Year of Ioun Stone Silver Nugget, Cloak of Many Pockets
* 2019 - Year of Ioun Stone Gold Nugget, Crown of Treasure Finding

A relic forged from goods of trade
By ancient hands the thing was made

I believe 2012 was the first year there were relics.

I believe 2009 was the first year there were "trade goods" (prior to that there were combo tokens as early as 2006). 2009 also had "Combo-Trade" rarity items.

Alas, for now, the method’s gone
To craft this fine phenomenon
...

There are two methods of crafting that are gone from true dungeon:

1. 2006-2008 combo tokens that didn't involve trade goods, just lists of specific tokens (although I guess the Eldritch / Grand Eldtrich / Story Arc relics are similar).
2. Arcane recipes, whose system I am unfamiliar with.

...
‘Twas fractured by a hand of bronze
And now it’s just some polygons

When days are long and three stars bright
...

The longest day of the year is June 21st, 2019. Days are longer than nights in the northern hemisphere until ~September 23rd (depends on latitude).

Curiously Orion the the constellation most famous for having 3 stars in a row, but it is mostly visible from November - February.

I looked around a bit to see if anything special was going on with the planets in the northern hemisphere and couldn't come up with much:
* June 23rd and August 9th Mercury will be at its highest point in above the horizon.
* July 9th is the best time of the year to view Saturn

Maybe this refers to the "Summer Triangle" of Vega, Deneb, and Altain? earthsky.org/?p=156768 best visible in June/July in the northern hemisphere.

...
The Dark Knight comes with special sight
For bringing forth the pieces all
To eldest place before the fall

So gather now your goods abound
And bring them where the start be found
A myst’ry now that was foretold
With time, that knowledge shall unfold

I don't seem to have any sticky tabs in my two QTRs - but it's possible I removed them and forgot.

I did note that it is, I guess, possible that Enchanter's Whetstone's art depicts a constellation?

Ahhh that's right it's only a 4-star transmute.

Wasn’t one of the combos tokens a three star token?

After re-reading this, I suspect this is to make a Relic entirely of Mystic Silk.

A nice clean, sharp image at a larger size might make pulling the pieces together easier.

I tried to reduce and build out the images but I don't have a program capable of doing it at the moment.

Agreed I did the same as him. The 6 pieces form a nice rectangle.

I pulled a couple in a 2018 bag of 50 at Origins. There was a post a while back saying the transmorph charms were only 2018 and shouldn't show up in 2019 treasure.

I'm at 3 charms of transmorph out of 40ish 2018 pulls
9 relic recipe bits after 220ish 2019 pulls
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven
