i'll be in the ramada and arrive Thursday afternoon. if anyone wants to turn in for trade items or gp, i'll be happy to save them a step in the transmuting process. I have quite a few of everything except aragonite.

also have a bunch of the same for sale.

Jeff, will you be there on Saturday? I wouldn't mind saving a step in my Shaman Necklace transmute by getting a few 1K Gold Bars. :)

I won't be at WYC. I'll be in the Swamp. :P

Thanks, Jeff! I actually meant Jeff Cunningham - I probably should have just said Smak. ;)

Thanks so much to everyone manning the token transmuting room - it really meant a lot to be able to drop tokens off there for transmuting, and to be able to chat and catch up with other True Dungeon people.

This was also the first time we actually signed up for events at WYC. We had a great time playing D&D all day, I think we'll make it an annual event for us. :)

Thanks for doing this. It was good to see some TD friends, do some trading and get my transmuting done.

It was a little cringe inducing to watch Druegar deface my precious Charms of Avarice. But I’m looking forward to getting the new ones.

I hope all the turned in COA are getting punctured in a way that lets them be sown together into a shirt of ring-mail like armor, which can then be sold at a future TD auction :).

Guys, thanks for showing up to do transmutes! We attended WYC on a spontaneous whim to mix up a Saturday, having the transmuting there is what incentivized us to go for this one day trip from Chicago. From the amount of buckets seen in the room it looks like the response was great!

If you ever set up runs again there I would definitely go!

Space is a challenge there. The last time we did a full dungeon there, it just barely fit in the space. There certainly was not space for two.

WYC personnel told me that they didn't even have enough space this year for the non TD events, much less having room for TD.

Unfortunately, it is difficult for them to use some parts of the space very well. For example, the Brickyard only gets fully used for a couple of events and the vendor hall could really needs more vendors to make use of the space it takes up.

I've suggested to them that they take a look at a another location that has slightly more space and possibly a better layout. No clue whether they could afford it though. For a convention their size running on their budget, they don't have a lot of options.

The virtue of WYC is that it’s free. No badge cost, no event cost.

But i imagine that creates some constraints.

I didn’t do anything but transmuting and token trading, but the parking lot appeared to be even more packed this year. From what I can see, they may need a bigger space at some point in the future.

Part of how WYC is able to pull it off is by helping the hotel sell rooms. Unfortunately, pretty much every hotel with more space is downtown (where rooms are generally more expensive, and the hotels have bigger fish to go after). If not downtown, then you're trekking out to Kokomo.

There is one location that opened up late last year just a bit outside 465, but they evidently have fewer hotel rooms than Wyndham West (which could be good/bad - good in that WYC could sell out the whole space, bad in that the rooms may not be sufficient for the deal they currently get?). Their largest event space room is advertised as about double the size of Wyndham West's. (So maybe a chance it could fit TD). There's several additional hotels within walking distance (so total hotel space wouldn't be an issue) and many more food options nearby compared to the current spot.

Other than the lack of TD, and the tightness of parking spots, I'm really happy with what WYC currently is. It's pretty amazing that we have a convention with free admission, free events, and pretty affordable food (I thought the pizza and cheeseburger with the fixings bar were tasty). I also like that it's about half a year apart from GENCON. If there were a way to get TD there again, I'd love it, but I think they're doing a really good job given their constraints.

I got a bunch of board games in... and saw some TD folk... worth the trek. I do think they should expand to a bigger space though and start charging if necessary.
