TOPIC: Friday 6ish 7 Token Nightmare Challenge

Okay, this just in: Kim has her own Sutr's Girdle, and will be using it.
So the spare one can be loaned to Harlax.


so, Kim's Fighter Build:
+5 Deathcleaver
Blessed Redoubt Plate
Surtr's Girdle
Amulet of the Champion
Charm of Heroism
AC 23 Melee To-hit +15 Damage +8 Ranged To-Hit +2 Dam 0


This is using Amulet of the Champion for a 5 HP bonus, vs the Stu-Pendant giving +1 AC (the +1 ranged to hit is negligible)

Not doing the challenge, but I like the mental exercise. I'll have to see what I would do for my wizard. Probably would have to go with a super glass cannon build. Do TEs count toward the 7 tokens?

Probably wouldn't survive until the end, but would do a lot of damage before then.

You would have 33 AC against melee attacks and if you dropped one slot would be loaned an ISSN. Depending on how this goes, I would be willing to try some variation of this at Gen Con.

Rod for 5th level Troubadour :also +1hp and odds to even for another bump should get 30hp.
Briano's for song plus spell casting
Robe so you don't get attacked.
Cloak incase you want to get attacked (taunt spell)
Earcuff to stretch your spells out. (refuge)

Round 1 bolster paladin
Round 2 song plus refuge (target ally cannot be attacked, ensure paladin is the target)
Round 3 song plus earcuff

Will do Mark. I think the thing that will be most interesting about doing this at GC would be I really like doing these variants as first runs through the dungeon which of course makes them more difficult.


But if others just like the challenge of coming up with the tokens to use then of course a re-run can be done but then I think you can change tokens out based upon what you have seen already, like knowing that fire damage reduction is really helpful, or that there is no need to worry about ranged combat or don't use a wizard because the final boss is immune to magic.

So with the loaned Gloves of the Brute and the loaned Fire Giant Girdle I go to +15/16 melee. Still a glass cannon, but with a slightly larger caliber.

Kay, maybe I'm misreading or misremembering... but what's with this Robe of Blending? I thought it was a Cloak of Blending, with would be incompatible with Cloak of Shadowskin (unless you used a Charm of Broaching to do both).

Am I missing something?

Just thinking out loud... but would it be better for Kim to drop the Amulet of the Champion, and use a Blessed Redoubt Shield (+5AC)... or - if someone had one to loan - the Legendary Giln's Shield (+7AC) ?

That would put her AC at 28 (or 30 with Giln's) which makes her much less likely to be hit.

But then we'd also need to swap out the DeathCleaver for a non-2-handed weapon. I could loan a +5 Asher's, or a +3 Slayer sword.

Would the +5 to AC and less strain on our healers be worth the -2 to hit loss?

I should have a Blessed Redoubt Shield by then. But won't it only be a net +4 to AC due to losing 2 points of Dex. And a loss of 5 hp due to losing 2 points of Con.

If someone has a blessed legendary shield I think maybe I should borrow it as it will increase 3 AC's....just a thought.
