Honestly whats it matter if Im not gonna fight anyway.

That's a valid question.

I think the answer is: We want as much flexibility as possible.

While the best current plan might be to have you hang back and sing, protected by a Cloak of Invisibility, no plan survives encounter with the enemy.

We may lose half the party to an AoE, and suddenly you're one of the only 3 people standing, and it's on you, and me, and the Barbarian to Save The Day! At that point, having you able to sing and fight at the same time is great.

Or we may encounter a creature with tremorsense or acute smell, who isn't fooled by a cloak of invisibility... and if it can hit you, you might as well be hitting it back.

Or we might be on the final round, and need you to slide the puck which bumps the Ranger into the 20... but still need the Bardsong bonus to give him the extra damage before the Crit doubles it....

We're going into this incredibly under-equipped, so anything which can give us more flexibility is probably gonna be worth it, IMHO.

Ok so how about

COA
Nugget

Ring of Heroism
Instrument (drum probably, but maybe lore, or rage+1hit)
Synergy
Kilt
Cloak

Would need to borrow the drum and cloak from someone.

Its weird going at it with no armor or weapon, do you think we'd trigger the unspoken gimme ACs for under equipped characters? I mean were doing this to ourselves but technically those bonuses aren't token based.
Semper Gumby, Always flexible.

Sartre sits in in a coffee shop and asks for a coffee without cream. The barista apologizes “Sorry, we don't have any cream. Can I offer you a coffee without milk instead?”

What is the unspoken gimme AC?

Also go ahead and change out the Synergy for something because it sounds like we are not using it after all. I can loan you drums and MasterEd can loan cloak.

It is going to be odd as a Paladin and have no weapon too. You can sing and cast at least. I will be standing there saying Hodor....I mean I am depending the Wizard and X.

A few years back we had a bucket or spare commons we could give to new players. The main idea of which was to make sure everyone had at least an armor and weapon (as that makes runs more fun).

Since then we've switched to a system where there is a small faint number printed in the armor box of the party card. If a player turns up similarly under equipped we can write in that AC as a gimmie. Same effect as going to the commons tub to grab then an armor but no tokens/wasted time.

Is that number on the party card the Natural AC (based on Dex)?

The bold number is that. The faint number is the "gimme" for players who dont draw or trade for armor. Usually only comes into play for newbie groups.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Ha I did not know this. Your guys call if we get the gimme or not. I don't know that it would help but it certainly wouldn't hurt. And can be used if someone chooses not to use armor?

If one of us dies, could you pick up their weapon and use it?

So based on this could say a bard who isn't using an item slot for a charm of synergy carry a weapon like +2 Long Sword then theoretically drop it in front of a Paladin who might pick it up and put it to better use (or would that be pushing the spirit of the rule to far)?

Excellent question. I dunno I think it is pushing it as it is 7 Token Character Challenge not a 70 token Party challenge.

However if you want to carry something like a Death Door or even Fallen Star Mushroom I think that is cool.

So without CoS my current plan (pending AoW information) is:

Class Monk

Level: 5
Health: 30
Melee
+ To Hit: 12
+ Damage: 12 +Eldritch +Poison
AC: 17

Melee Mainhand: Asher's +5 Viper Strike Fang
Back 1: Cloak of Shadowskin
Waist: Surtr's Girdle of Fire Giant Strength
Feet: Boots of the Four Winds
Charm 1: Charm of Heroism

Note I will be sliding an empty second puck. It will cost about 7 points of potential damage but by equipping the BoFW it will add 10 pts of damage.

I wonder if Kirk should then Mimic this build. Or Legendary Mail instead of Shdowskin. I think that is a toss up for him.

Nevermind I forgot the empty ranger's puck doesn't have a damage wheel like the monk.
