Mike Steele wrote: Matthew, those were my thoughts also. I'd hope that non-Patrons will have an equal chance at class selection, instead of having to take whatever is left. There's lots of time before TDC, why not wait until all the tickets are sold to choose classes? And, like you said, if I'm a non-forum member, and got a ticket, it would leave a bad taste in my mouth to arrive at TDC and find that everyone else had already chosen classes.

To be fair, that always bothered me about the Golden Ticket runs as well, that those who got their Golden Tickets later had less choice in classes.

#1 - Keep in mind that the Patron Code for the Patron event and being sure you get into a True Horde event is a HUGE carrot to have people place 8k preorders. Part of what goes with that is the potential for class selection given that you are early. In McDroggin's case, his 8k order potentially never would have been made without offering the Patron Code with its associated benefits. Understand the reasoning behind all of this is to make more money available to the TD crew early so they can start on this years Dungeons in preparation for GenCon and GHC.

#2 - See Henwy's post. The Friday Horde is already full, so no point in waiting to begin planning.

#3 - Being a non-forum member applies to GT runs as well. To the best of my knowledge, there haven't been complaints by non-forumites about class selection for GTs?

#4 - I've been on the receiving end of decreased selection for GTs. It never even crossed my mind to complain about it. I've always been excited enough to get a GT that the rest falls into place. That said, GT's currently have 4 different groups to choose from to alleve class selection, and True horde has 6 different groups between the 2 days.

#5 - The only time I've seen a conflict was not at a GT run; it was at a run with 1/2 the people who purchased the tickets were on the forum with one person who was only equipped to play one class, and the other 1/2 who were not on the forums who had someone who was only equipped to play the same class. An advantage for TDC is that the people who have purchased the tickets are listed, which is wonderful upgrade to normal ticket purchase in that we have leads for contacting everyone on any given run.

#6 - Experienced adventurers showing flexibility to those less experienced or less "token-advantaged" generally resolves this issue. In my experience, this generally happens and should be encouraged so all get to have a fun time.

Something that hasn't been mentioned that concerns me: I don't think the limit on pre-sale tickets for non-Horde events has been sent out in a newsletter. Non-forumites could potentially buy out all the slots not being aware of the 12 ticket limit.

If anyone wants to try organizing an Occupy True Dungeon protest against the 1%, Friday's True Hoard event is your milk and honey.

I got an email from the Tabletop.events site. It's also on the TDC main page there.
Classes Played: Barbarian (65 times), Monk (56), Ranger (33), Rogue (25), Cleric (21), Fighter (13), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (10), Bard (7), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

Per the Description: "True Horde – A TD first! Three parties of 10 players will combine into one party" (and form Voltron...sorry couldn't pass up on the quip :silly: )

That's all I see so far.

Hypotheses:
Sounds like party planning for each 10 would be the usual.

I'd expect 1-2 sliding boards for each group of 10 (one for a portion of the Jeffagorgon, and one for minions).

Given above, the easiest way to manage would be that Bardsongs cover the group the Bard is in only. This way, more people who like to play Bard would be able to do so. Otherwise, there would only be one useful Bard spot amongst 30 players, and if the Bard dies, all 29 other players suffer.
Given potential attrition of groups, a Bard could move to another group that needs a Bard, similar to players moving from monster to monster in grind.

It's too bad Gertz can't be make this event. If the hoard could have been treated as one team (rather than three teams of 10) then his backpack could have affected all thirty in the group.

May understanding is that Jeff and Co would be notified if someone bought more than 12 and then contact them. At least I thought that is what it said.

Due to the projected demand for event tickets for the two-hour "Beneath Castle Altus" dungeon adventure we are limiting the number of event tickets anyone can buy to 12 "Beneath Castle Altus" tickets. We don't have a mechanism to prevent this, but we will be notified if this occurs. That player will then be contacted and asked to refund the number of "Beneath Castle Altus" tickets to get them back down to only 12 event tickets.

So I may get in horde for saturday but what i do appreciate being active in the forums is getting 4 slots of the regular dungeon prereg with out having a patron code. I would like to get into a horde slot but if I don't will be fun to watch you guys try to take it down.

I have asked if viewing TH will be possible for those not playing but haven't heard back. It is my number 3 question.

1. How is class selection limits handled among the 30 players?
2. How is interaction among the 30 players (bardsong, healing, group spells like bless)?
3. Can other people watch TH?

I have a ticket for Friday.

I am hoping for Paladin, he has all ultra rares and a bunch of legendaries...

I can do barbarian, not as good a build, but doable, then dwarf fighter than fighter, if pally is not available.
