I watched a number of people making their pulls. It was funny when they pulled trade items - "Aw, now I have to go back to the transmuting room!"

What's the cut off tone able to use the older version of the trade items? I completely forgot to transmute what I got from the treasure box...

Quoting from every Trade Item entry in the TDb:
In 2017, all Trade and Reserve tokens were redesigned with new high-rez artwork and chocolate-brown backs. Owners of the old, gold-backed versions can use their existing stock in transmuted recipes before December 1st, 2018. One-to-one exchanges can be done starting in September 2017. After December 1st, 2018, the old versions will no longer be exchangeable and may not be used in transmuted recipes. There is no charge to make the exchange, but if you want them to be mailed to you, you will need to pay for shipping. If you add this exchange as part of another order, they can all be shipped for the same price. You may also make the exchange in person at most TD events.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Can the old version of Wish Ring still be used for Wishes after December 1st, 2018?

If you were on a run with a senior player, they probably went strait up to the desk and flashed 10 or more CoA's and 10 or more Silver Nuggets covering the entire party.

If your group followed 2 (or more) of those parties pulling 170-190 draws, he just spot checked a few players on that run to keep the line from backing up.

I thought he did a decent job of moving players through. :)

Ah, that would make more sense.

And regarding drawing treasures by hand, even though the backs are now all the same I believe some Tokens now have a starburst type dimple on their border vs. the round. Not sure if you can distinguish those by hand though.

I keep forgetting to test this out for myself, but jedibcg mentioned to me that the plastic itself feels different for the darker plastic (relics and trade goods for example). If true, that would be another reason the wands would continue to be needed.

I am not saying that I didn't say that, but I don't remember saying that. I also don't know if that is true. Basically I think someone else said it to Fiddy and he is misremembering it as me. Though it is possible I did say that and did think that.

Me, misremember? Couldn't be. ;)

Apologies for conflating you with what someone else said.

I was hoping you guys would have gotten to use Jeff's token distributor he hinted at before last Gen Con. I am okay with the wand, just may need another box or two for pulls so people won't have to wait as long?

Uuf - tell me about it!

Two runs, first run Wizard - we went alphabetical.

Second run Barbarian - we went reverse alphabetical.

More than 15 minutes in the coaching room both times.

That or have some premade 10 bags. That would cut down on time significantly.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

This reminds me of my only complaint about TDC. The runs were longer than expected which meant getting to a later run more difficult. I think part of this was because of the 100+ pulls that were happen in the epi room but also the trolley ride down to the dungeon. I believe that added 12 minutes to each run. Which would have been fine had I known that I needed to allow at least an extra 12 minutes.

Sealed 18s seems best for the epilogue room.

Full treasure with potential +1 for 6th level.

25/50/100 at the larger pull box areas

That way you can quickly and easily grab at epilogue or pick up later and not affect group times

I know more than one Treasure Desk DM would would like to do away with the wands!

For me, the difference between the old tokens (no year on the back) and new ones (with the year) was so noticeable that I could identify the UR out of a box with 20 commons in under 30 seconds, every time... and usually in the first 10 seconds.

Now it takes me over 5 minutes to find the UR in a box of 20 tokens (and thats assuming I can go through them one by one, and put the "nopes" into a different place instead of dropping them back in the box) - and I still get a lot of false positives. Basically, it would be impossible to do it with any degree of accuracy at the treasure desk.

This doesn't solve problems with people slipping tokens up their sleeves, or trying to peek down the arm hole for a glimpse into the box, but it does make the wands far less essential.
