I asked Lori about the mugs and that apparently was all Walker's. I suggested they see if they could pick them up cheap after the event and maybe sell them. Not certain if anything will come of it.

As for the mug, I was avouding soda, and I'm glad I didn't think of mixed drinks, but I am.kind of regretting not getting one if it might have helped bring the event back next year.

For future reference (assuming we have TDC there again and they do the mugs again), you could also get iced tea or lemonade, not just soda.

They also had an energy drink on tap that was eligible for the mug.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Thanks for the tips guys!

I would definitely buy one as a novelty if they were still available for a lower price. I believe they had the year on them, correct?

Believe they did, i didn't think to grab one until the way home. Was drinking the local grape all weekend.

Hope a few of these either appear at Origins or the webstore for those of us that forgot to get one in person.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Donate $20 to our worldbuilders team page and I'll mail you one of mine.

(forgot it in the hotel room on day 2)

It only saw a single diet pepsi all weekend.

Loved the mug.

Haven't changed my mind about PvP, but I haven't lost it, either. I should have had one more night's sleep before saying anything about it. Sorry I went off the rails.

Agree on the mug.

PVP wouldn't appeal to me either. I didn't particularly enjoy the traitor party member mechanic in Grind last year for that matter. Personal preference I suppose.

They still do. ;)

I was glad to hear that was a Walker's item. I thought if True Dungeon was selling the mug - even if Walker's was getting a cut, they might be losing money based on the number of refills some were getting.

You wouldn't believe the markup on iced tea and fountain drinks. I'm sure they did just fine :)

So my take on this...

I thought the patron event of making a puzzle and tokens was super cool and fun.
I was very sad we didn't do the outdoor event. I was willing to get wet but I suppose others were not :(
Didn't need those extra shoes after all.

The PVP replacement option.
PVP is a very different style game. Just as some folks dislike grind because they don't enjoy combat, there are folks that don't like PVP. I don't like PVP in my MMOs. I Do like PVP in games specifically designed for it, aka counter strike. It was better than nothing so that's cool, but TD just isn't designed for PVP.

Changes that were made since the bar brawl pvp.
1. they changed initiative order up. It was 1 player from each side in a predetermined order.

Good - that was a good change
Bad - they didn't indicate it would "Snake" so if you were first in round 1 you'd also be last in round 2.

2. they changed Area of Effect spells.

Good - needed for balance so 1 player doesn't kill all the characters.
Bad - we didn't know ahead of time and your round could be totally wasted. This resulted in players having
their only actions result in no effect and being dead before they could do anything else.

3. seal run

Good - much more balanced
Bad - nothing bad about this actually

I think my team did some good stratigizing and it only took me a few seconds to realize that Druid and Wizard should be/would be killed first. Druid has the ability to kill any PC based on spell surge and damage output.
This resulted in the opposing team's druid not even getting an action as I killed her round 1 first thing.

If I were trying to fix up PVP to make it more fun I would do the following:
Every spell should get a save for half or require a slide to hit.
AoE effects fail 50% of the time (so it a big gamble)
Introduce a "block" mechanic like flank
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

:O

I did not know this! I thought it was just for Pop (which I can't stand - don't like carbonation) but I would gladly have had half a dozen lemonades if I'd known.
