The funniest part of this is now the topic is about how we don't stay on topic.

First we'd have to come to a consensus of what the proper topic is to get back to. :)

You have no idea how often I wish I could organize these threads. Someone will ask a question in one thread, but it had been answered a day ago in another thread. Or we have multiple threads going at once discussing the same thing, or as usual, it's hard to find a topic that was discussed because it's in a thread labeled something unrelated because we've moved off topic.

One of my favorites was when we started to discuss something in Druegar's TD 2.0 thread and we were all told to move along, but whatever the topic was wasn't picked up elsewhere... :(

When do we ever come to a consensus on anything?

That's why it's VERY UNLIKELY that we'll get back on topic (whatever that was). ;)

To steer it slightly back on topic: I carry all my gear into the dungeon. Granted, that's only ~40 tokens, but I have had more than one occasion of having to explain a tokens ability to a GM so that I could use it. I have no problem with this. I wouldn't expect every GM to have memorized every token...

That happens all the time, new DMs do not always see or know all the tokens.

But after have the same DM three times, we were still explaining the same tokens over and over again.

We carry everything every year. And for the group that's two huge binders full of tokens, plus two token wallets with the tokens most likely to be asked to be seen by a DM. That's one reason I miss the woody tokens, they were much lighter. :)

When I am coaching there comes a moment when I typically move around half the tokens on a players mat to the bottom and say "these are conditional, you may need to remember the effect or show it to the DM in the dungeon."

I carry all my tokens in a binder in case I am asked to show a token.
