Whatever is done, I would suggest thoughtfulness and care.

The reason so many player have and value the Free Movement tokens is because you told us to. The penalties in the dungeon for not having Free Movement in an encounter that involved holds/hindrances were devastating.

Ideally, future dungeon design does not involve players sitting in timeout just because they don't happen to have a necessary token.
Playing True Dungeon since 2012.

At the same time, we don’t want cake walks where we are immune to everything.

Maybe a middle ground here would be effects that negatively impact PCs but aren’t automatic, “ypu get no actions because you didn’t have token X.” An example would be another PC causing the monster to vomit the swallowed character by giving it something gross thrown into its mouth, etc..
What do we want? Evidence based science! When do we want it? After peer review!

"We" don't want cake walks? Sometimes that is what I want. Don't speak for everyone.

Can also be immune to everything and still lose.

To win a dungeon with a rm7 combat, routinely incentivized to focus on damage output not just to beat rm7 but because offense is defense in the earlier rooms. When defenses against things replace more damage, even things like saves or more HP, then the game isn't just a quest to max out damage and may be able to get some build diversity.

Every time make more esoteric stuff worse, then just incentivized to stop caring about anything besides how much damage can output.

Free movement is currently broken in the sense that a token completely playable without giving it gives it. The mechanic is pretty binary, which is a related problem. It seems like the optimal state of some people preferring free movement and some people preferring something else leading to real choices in builds is coming in a year or two.

More design options are good.

Tokens suddenly not working is bad.

Change to a plus to reflex save against magic hinderances is good compromise. Still token suddenly not working…

Using other words for same hindrances is frustratingly bad.

Several suggestions as given are good. Reminder that slot contention is a ways off as bead expanders are “on deck” in design space.

Greed is good…

Bead of Almost Free Movement
Relic: +2 all saves, +5 reflex saves to magical hinderances, +1 Treasure Chip. Cannot be equipped with BoFM.

Transmute: 1 BoFM

(TC being the most aggressive hammer, +2 str/+2 dex would do same. Yes this hadn’t been preannounced, but life is hard some times and I for one can suck it up for a better dungeon design. And there are a ton of BoFMs out there and this would eat up a lot of them.)

I want cake…but I would be leery of cake in a dungeon.

VERY leery.
Tenth level achieved! Now for the long journey to 11th level!

What about a cake topped with a lovely duck made out of frosting?
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .
