So--you have to get one specific ultra-rare (the Ioun Stone), 1/4 of your $1K UR selections, to even be able to use the tooth which is being offered as an incentive? That is... frustrating.

The powers are okay--but most of them are replicated with rare potions (or other tokens at that level) anyway. I was not looking for more power--just something different from what we've seen before. The ability to further customize one's character's abilities/powers is appealing.

This is only the first tooth. Like the first rod segment it didn't do much on its own.

I did mean "Plane Sight" -- as in being able to see into other Planes -- like the Ethereal Plane were ghosts hang out. I like the double entree (smirk), too! :P

I will change it to Plane Vision so people won't get too hung up on the name. Thanks.

I still think it should do a bit more like + small stats like the rod. The rod gives stats and you don't need other slots to use it.

What type of action is it to use these Psychic Powers?

It depends on the Power. Most will require a standard action, but some like the damage negation are a free action. Maybe we should add that to the chart.


If I have both the Ioun Stone Amethyst Ovoid and the 2017 token would I be able to use Psychic Power more than once per adventure? If so, could I select the same Psychic Power each time?

No. The token just says it grants Psychic Power. They would not stack.



Why do we need to track them if Psychic Powers can only be used once per adventure? Or does "track" here mean the player needs to remember which Psychic Powers they are eligible to use?

Correct. Players will need to know what Powers they can choose from.

A player may of the Ioun Stone but no Tooth -- so they could use the 0-9 point Power.

Also, it gives someone with a Tooth a selection of powers in 2015.

Jeff, do you think there will be additional tokens giving psychic powers after the 7 years, or will it be like Eldritch (as announced so far) and once those announced tokens are gone you move to something else? Maybe you should do something like the Eldritch tokens, and have four UR's that grant psychic powers that can be transmuted into a "Psychic Relic" or something. :)


Who really can say...but it is a good idea. I think I can commit to a 7-year plan going forward, but nothing after that.

It would not be idea for a newbie to pull this Ioun Stone, but the curing Power and Psychic Blast immunity is something...

Coach seems to be a typo in this sentence. We equip tokens to our character, yes? :P

If most are going to be a standard action I am further underwhelmed :/ Sorry to be so negative I want to like it really, but slots needed and standard action powers is not doing it for me. Even though I probably won't ever have it I hope the 4 piece eldritch set is good.

im sure I will get one at some point, but I am hoping to collect 3 sets of teeth so I can take all 3 people I equip on the special event. and im not sure I will be equipping all 3 of us with psychic powers; it will depend on the slots required and what other options for those slots...ioun stone is getting very crowded.

the psychic powers seem very underwhelming to me. as a 1/game ability no matter how many pp you have, I feel like I will NEVER want to dedicate slots to gaining pp. although, maybe the teeth of cavadar are the only way to get pp? just seems a bit odd to me. but maybe that is because I was imagining a character who started giving up lots of slots to gain small incremental pp that added up to lots of power...but you had to not be equipping the best combat gear to have that power.



Correct. You must transmute all 7 Teeth to make a more powerful Eldritch item. It will grant 80 points of PP AND give you admission to a one-time, very cool event in 2021.

This whole thing has been developed to gain power over time. It will be really nice in 5-6 years -- and not too bad for those you get into collecting in a few years, too.

Due to all the various classes, it was deemed not-so-good to try to come up with some kind of powerful Psychic rules set. It would be too hard to admin and too hard on the Coaches and DMs. I am hoping this does what I was hoping it would do. Give the big token collectors a bit of fun and coolness that only their characters would have access to use -- and then thank them all in seven years with a special event only for them.
