For edification sake the chance of an additional purple in your condensed order is exactly the same as your chance of an additional purple in your non-condensed order.

Non condensed orders have 120 packs with a 1% UR insertion.
Condensed orders have the U/R tokens of 120 packs with a 1% UR insertion.

TECHNICALLY both options give you a higher chance than the raw numbers would allow as each set of 120 are pulled contiguously. Were completely random pulls set it would be statistically possible to pull 0 random UR tokens. It would also be possible to pull 5+


Actually on condensed packs you can never get more than 2 00's as they put the UR into your bag and there are no packs to open. They give you 1 100% of the time, then they do a random roll and 20% of the time you get a second random one. So condensed packs you will always get 1 and sometimes 2, and normal GT chance.

On random packs you could get 0 or you could get 1,2,3,4,etc 00's because they are random

It's not a change. It's always been a chance on the random packs and ever since the condensed packs were made they are 80% of the time you'll get 1 UR and 20% of the time you'll get 2 URs. (100% on first and 20% chance on second). I bought in 2012 and ended up buying 3500 dollars worth and got the Golden Ticket on the last pack I opened. No URs in that which is very unlikely statiscially, but can still happen.


It is a change - the quote I originally posted said, as I said before, 4 PYPs, 1 random UR, and 20% chance of another random UR. It might not be a change in policy, but it is different from what was at one time posted.

Interesting powers.

Idea:
It would be really cool to slide a psychic weapon. Or maybe a weapon that is augmented by your psychic power tier. +1 dmg for having psychic power, +1 dmg per tier after that. Dmg can only be prevented by monsters with psychic power.

It might make more sense if the powers over tier 1 are just examples right now. Knowing this forum, they will most likely get tweaked year to year, especially after there is feedback on using psychic power in the dungeon.


Idea:
Since this is meant as a reward for the big fish (which I am not) perhaps there should be a vote every year on the ability that gets unlocked at the newly available power tier. My thoughts on how this could work:
  1. Token buyers that would receive a tooth also receive a vote. Max of 10 votes per person to keep giant fish (Laz?) from dominating the vote. People who buy a tooth second hand don’t get a vote as this is a big fish reward.
  2. The forum argues discusses ideas for powers.
  3. Jeff posts a list of (up to) 5 potential powers to vote from. Vote starts some time before a GenCon.
  4. A week later voting closes.
  5. Repeat each year a new tooth come out
Over all I think giving this somewhat exclusive ability to shape TD token abilities is a cool bonus to the big fish. Possibly make some little fish with investments want to up their orders?

Jeff, have you made a final decision on the psychic powers? Your first post in this thread made it sound like you were looking for input, so I'm just wondering if what we've seen is what is going to get used or if you've decided on some changes?

(I'm wondering whether to pester politely ask Druegar to update TokenDB, Amorgen to update his spreadsheet, and Binia/Cranston to update the iPad app or if I should hold off because there are changes on the way)

No thanks.

Creates too many issues on whether psionics are considered magic or spells. Just seems like a massive headache for a very minor gain.

I didn't use a psionic power once in any of my runs, nor did my best friend. The powers are too underwhelming to be anything but an afterthought--even as a free action. I don't plan to equip the ioun stone again (unless there is some compelling reason to do so, such as for the year seven adventure). I'm hoping that the combined Teeth of Cavadar item is better/different/interesting in some way. And--I don't mean overpowered. I felt pretty overpowered this year as it is, with the exception of Grind. I'd love to just see something different from a design perspective.

Also--not griping (because it really didn't seem to matter anyway), but it seemed like the ioun stones were getting missed quite a bit in the coaching room; a lot of people, myself and my friends included, we're getting hit by psychic blasts because it wasn't marked on the party card (despite being on the ones that were turned in).
