That's a tough sell. There are more total URs, but only by 2. And 20 of them have to be the 2019s. For every ISGN or Gregor's tome that might go above the standard PYP price, there are several that would go for much lower.

The addition of the C,UC,R set probably doesnt make up for that.

Agree. In my opinion 2019 UR Onyx set is not a viable auction or offering. The demand I have seen does not support it.

Just offer any person who wins 2 or more PyPs the ability to swap 2 PyP selectsion for the Onyx C/UC/R set. If more than one want it draw from a hat or resolve based on first bid or whatever.

I was assuming that chef wanted onyx URs, which would necessitate the 2019 onyx UR set with 16 additional PyP option, and includes the C/UC/R onyx pack with the coat of the 2 PyPs.

Quite frankly, I love that idea. I feel like if I'm ever running any 34UR auctions that offer might start coming standard. XD

Of course I would have no problem with someone who won 2 PyPs choosing the onyx C/UC/R set.

I would recommend a method to break ties be described up front, just in case.

I know its not high in demand Just wanted to throw the idea out just in case others aside from myself might be able to generate enough buzz to warrant it. In the meantime always down for another auction. Got to start up on secondary builds for the future.

I appreciate all the auction methodology conversations here and elsewhere and feel I’ll probably stick with the second-price hybrid I see most commonly on forum auctions. This would play out as


Item with 10 available:
Bidder A - 6 - $5
Bidder B - 6 - $5

would result in the winning bids of

Bidder A - 6 @ $5
Bidder B - 4 @ $5


Item with 10 available:
Bidder A - 5 - $10
Bidder B - 6 - $8
Bidder C - 3 - $10

would result in the winning bids of

Bidder A - 5 @ $8
Bidder B - 2 @ $8
Bidder C - 3 @ $8.25


Early bids have priority, regardless of whether they are equal to or greater than the bids that follow them. Only bids that push out other bids will be impacted by the bid increment.


I’m hesitant to introduce anything onyx, in part because I am not certain of demand and because I worry about adding complexity. If there is interest I would definitely be open to allowing PYP winners interested in onyx to choose to exchange 2 PYPs for the R/C/UC set (or 18 for the UR set), giving priority to earliest bidder interested.

I’ll post a new thread with the auction tonight, here’s to hoping we can make it a success.

The onyx UR set comes wtih 16 other URs and R/C/UC set. 16 for the onyx set possibly, 16 more and 2 more for R/C/UC set.
