this has got me curious. of course it is real, but has it been used. all of the recipe tokens that went out are accounted for. is this some secret i am not aware of? i would stake my reputation as a thmart barbellion, all recipes have been used.

Any hint on what the “holy grail” is?

I know… I have been watching all day. I thought ring of 3 wishes woodie, but he said it’s something far rarer, he said all Arcane are gone so I’m at a blank.

He said there is a Token far more rare than the Ring of Three Wishes. He didn't say that Token was the Holy Grail thing he has listed. But maybe that's what he meant.

Very true. Do you know which token is far more rare than the 3 wish ring ?

Could be, I saw one on eBay a few months ago, listed for $1k. Would love to buy it but it, however at that time I had all my money tied up else where. The coin of fate went for over $2,500 and I would bet the wish ring would go for over $3,000 easy. But I could be very wrong.

As Trent pointed out, there is still one arcane recipe unredeemed. There were 12 given out and there are 12 listed in tokendb. However, one of those is Jeff's and it is fair to assume he didn't have to use a recipe to make his own token. A second of the 12 listed was a gift for Patrick Rothfuss and that happened years after the arcane recipes. Rumor is one had been redeemed but not listed in tokendb. That would still leave 1.

Based on Smak's comments, though, it isn't the arcane recipe because he was arguing all those are gone.

I am guessing it is one of the following: Artisan token, ring of 3 wishes, or a proof token. The marvel stuff isn't as rare as these (though, I've never seen one.)

I'm guessing artisan token.

I’ve never seen the ring, but saw 1 Artisan on eBay a few months ago. I know he said they are all gone but man oh man would it be amazing for an arcane. I have wanted one for so long. Wish they would come back one day. I think I saw some early proof ones from Laz Auction, and I think Smackdown was selling a proof set last auction…

By my count there are 10 of 12. Unless the +3 holy sword is part of it. Taking out Patrick’s and thd holy sword that states it’s “ Dungeon only “ there’s 10 including but I do trust if he says they are gone then they are. It would be cool to see some of the other proof sets. I’ve only ever seen a few pieces

How do you know the Arcane Recipe Token Trent posted hasn't already been redeemed? And not to go down the well of how many were made but the first ones released were not just "given out".

I only know of 4, but obviously I wasn't active back then. If you could run down what each one was that would be awesome for us to hear!

I know one of the RoTW's was destroyed after all it's wishes were used.

There are a few.

I guess it's up to the agreed upon definition of rare/rarity. To me it first means number originally printed and then being able to acquire them. With that said, I think only 4 Ring of Three Wishes were ever printed and were only available to three volunteers and I think one for an auction.

To me the Ring of Three Wishes is the rarest / hardest token to find. But I think an argument could be made that an unused Arcane Recipe would be a pretty darn hard token to find as well.

Maybe there are others that think a few other tokens might be rarer (maybe the the Star Wars tokens?), and if so, I'd love to hear what they are! :)

There is at least one Hammer of Foss Altus (spelling might be wrong) that has showed up a few times in the dungeon - there was a dungeon where a single party member could wield it in a room - I think it was in one of the TDC events at walkers bluff but I’m not certain.

I think it has a hole punched in the sticker of the token.

I think it is maybe a +7 hammer.

I have for some reason a belief it’s associated with Jeff’s dad - maybe Foss Altus was a PC Jeff’s dad played in a campaign or something.

That last point is very speculative - I could be totally wrong or mixed up two stories together or something.
