I would agree, in that the Supreme Ring is almost an Artifact (orange) token. Those run about $2000. The difference is that the Eldritch items are NOT timeless, so timing is everything. Depending on how good the completed Rod of Seven Parts is, the value is only going up! But, by how much? I'm willing to bet that Jeff will make a good Rod!

True Dungeon transmited tokens usually sell for about 20% less than the sum of their parts. With that said, I could see $800 being a reasonable selling price. Which means I'll need to round up a few hundred more dollars? I hope a few items on this thread sell!

The key is balance. Will Jeff find it? Simple, eloquent and relevant. Not as easy as it sounds.

Well, I was never a supporter of power creep, but I've lost that battle in a big way.

Given that, it would be nice if there was some bonus for a 3 item eldritch set. It should be tangible but I would hope it would be relatively mild overall.

I've posted on this before. Jeff has a challenge on unifying functionality, power and elegance. I have no issue with power creeping, it is a true challenge. As a Dungeon Master, it took me time to learn balance for my storyline. It will be interesting how three Eldritch items will interact. The Supreme Ring is powerful. The Rod of Seven Parts promises to be powerful if even the conservative guesses are true. We'll see as more information is revealed.

One option to minimize power creep may be to have different Eldrich combinations work differently.

For example, we know what the Ring/Rod combo will do...and it will only benefit the Ranger and Druid. Perhaps the Ring/Boots combination will only work for two other classes, and the Rod/Boots for still different classes?

Simplicity is apart of the elegance factor I brought up. I believe power creep is a threat to balance. I hope Jeff "Beta tests" the Eldritch set extensively. Designing interlocking items can be very difficult. Good Luck to Jeff and crew in the "Edlritch Project."
