Maybe this is technically a 2018 issue, but the 2019 Eldritch Kilt makes it relevant, IMO.

I know Thor’s has the same min DEX requirement as Io’s, but until we introduce blunt ammo that doesn’t matter. Throwing Thor’s is our only relic or legendary ranged option.

But Clerics have the lowest DEX of any class (11) so it’s ironic that the class of blunt weapons and the gawds has the hardest time wielding a hammer of the gawds.

We only have two offensive spells. One of them is called “Spiritual Hammer.”

We have to add +9 DEX. Druids only need +7, and Rogues a mere +1.

I’ve been using the Kilt to get +6 DEX. I even picked up ten CoS to ensure I had +10 HP to make up for CON penalty, so the +5 HP on Dungeonbane is redundant for me.

I was hoping the Eldritch would do the same for us as for the CON users. Those who wear it for HP lost nothing, since +4 CON and +5 HP is basically the same as +6 CON. I was hoping the DEX contingent would get the same treatment.

I’ve never heard of anyone wearing a pair of the Wind Boots or an Elemental Ring because it’s better than the legendary it went into, but I’m seriously considering it.

But I kind of have to wear the new Kilt to mitigate the LoDS and Eld set nerfings, and that means I have to find room to add more DEX in the same year we have another greed token to squeeze in, too. And I can do it, because I have a lot of stuff lying around, but it’s frustrating that I have to jump through hoops to feel like I’m just breaking even.

So I’m hoping TPTB can sort this out. If we couldn’t fix it on the Kilt, maybe we can fix it on the Hammer. To be blunt, so to speak, this feels like a bad year to be a Cleric, so I’m hoping something can be done.

A+ puns.

If it is to be changed, it would be good to do so while the kilt recipe is still open.

As all stats are about to matter more, I’d be inclined to wait and see what they do.

I think some rebalancing may be in order, compare for example Druid: 86 stat points, with Dwarf Fighter: 70.

If all stats are going to matter that kind of imbalance is hard to understand.

Clerics have 76 stat points - maybe just give them +2 dex period, or +2 dex and str at 5th level.

Good points, must be my young age showing when the answer that seems to keep getting thrown around is well you have X out of print token laying around right? Fortunate you can do it Brad but you're right a lot of us likely don't.

I love my tokens but having to find answers to stuff that was previously solved is frustrating.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

That’s one reason I was fighting so hard in the Kilt. It’s an injustice I can work around, but not everyone has my resources.

I’m not bragging when I say I have a library of URs and volunteer tokens and whatnot to draw upon. I’m saying that’s what you need to make the new Eldritch token palatable if you wanted anything except HP.

Good luck with this one Brad.

Thematically I don't mind seeing Cleric's with starting Dex that's lower then Fighters and Rogues (and maybe even Druid's). Their Cleric's after all, not very Dexy in my opinion. That being said, if Thor's Hammer was meant to be a Legendary Token for all Classes then I would think that a Cleric should have an easy time wielding it. Hammers are Cleric weapons for sure. Lift the Dex requirement? Don't think so. It was put there to keep all the strength boys in check. Maybe remove the Dex requirement just for Clerics? I get what Jeff was trying to do, give everyone access to a Legendary weapon. I wish it would have been more class specific though.

Ahman to that, speaking as a part time cleric of mask at least the rogue side of the business did ok but over half the URs I'm going to be in the market for are going to be dedicated to getting my cleric build back to zero so to speak.

You could just juggle around your items to get the Dex you need. There was a post with Dexterity based items to add, and I think that there were 26-27 in points you can utilize to increase the Dex. You do have a vast library ;) ?

I think there does not have to be the ultimate build for all of the classes and perhaps people need to make harder choices to get what they want. IMO

Lower the Con, raise the Strength??

Not using any plus-CON to give up

You’re missing the point. I don’t want it solved for me. I can deal. I want it solved for Clerics in general.

Maybe I should just give up Cleric. ATM it just doesn’t feel like the game is geared towards us. Get the Druids to heal you when they aren’t shapeshifting.

It's not that hard to get there if you have a decent stash of Tokens. Kilt is +4, Cube is +2. You can then go UR Fae Lenses now that the LoDS is nerfed. Make it up with the Tome a bit. There's also Stu's which costs a neck slot, or Fast Fitness or Cut Purse Gloves. So you can get there but then you can't be the most ultimate healer and the most ultimate head smasher at the same time. I think there will most likely be a volunteer Charm that will get the +2 Dex back but then that will force people to remove a charm. Hard to have the whole cake and eat it too..

It's weird to me that you'd consider a cleric wanting to use a "for all" legendary hammer to get in a couple attacks as having the whole cake and eating it too.

But why do we have to “get there?” We were already there with the UR Kilt!

The CON users have exactly what they bargained for: +6 CON. They came out ahead. THEY don’t have to “get there.”

But DEX users get +4 DEX +2 CON. It’s not what we wanted. We wanted the DEX. We have to swap around hundreds of dollars worth of tokens to break even. If the best you have to offer is “suck it up” then please stop trying to help.

In fact, I’d feel better if the +5 HP went away. That way everyone feels the same pain, and everyone has to “get there,” wherever their own personal “there” happens to be.
