Flail is.much better. Image is still too pointy for clerics.

A lot of classes added to holy avenger. Never thought of this as a short sword. Seems a little too good for rogues, mybe bards?

Cloak of Shadowskin is a big downgrade.

I wish there was a way to make it 1.5 to saves.

Shirt is better

Crossbow is better

Tome is good. Happy to see Bards added

Kilt of barrelbane seems way too good. +6Str is a huge amount. Would prefer +4/-2/-2

I like the idea of reckless heroism with -2 to saves ratger than dex.

Is ring of the yeti good enough?

I like the ice crystal.

It's not too late to bring Barrelbane down to +4/-2/-2 ;)

As it is I'd say it's the best melee token at UR ever printed within it's token ecosystem at the time it was printed:

+3/+3 to melee for -1 AC, Ranged to-hit, Reflex, Fort, and 5 HP

Compare with Relic Girdle of Frost Giant Strength:

+2 or 3 to melee hit and damage, depending on final attribute score.

Or Legendary Surtr's Girdle:

+3 or 4 to melee hit and damage, depending on final attribute score.


Gloves of the Brute are nominally better, but since you can get +2 STR or damage gloves at Rare the Kilt is better as it allows you to stack higher.

I thought I had a lot more saves coming!

Shadowskin is fine with +1. Rob made good points above that I agree with.

The best would probably be locked in forever at +3 and free movement. I can live with 2 and FM.

The holy avenger was a tease. I suspect it may come back next year to some degree.
Please take rogue off this.
My recollection was that it was always a 2 handed sword, others have said longsword.
Either way, not a rogue weapon.

They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to use. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to use once! Oh - and if you really need to think about whether you're going to use the fireball or the + umpty staff of butt-whooping - you're likely to find yourself full of arrows, or fangs, or nasty knives & swords and such. Don't think - just shoot!

If LoDS retained the ability to buff scrolls, it might be better worded as:


+2 pts to healing Spells & Scrolls, may split Spell/Scroll healing total between 2 targets

I did think the earlier version had the +2 to both Spells and Scrolls. I'd still like it higher than +2, it went from an outstanding token to a pretty weak one.

Still think Hat of the Hellway is too strong as it is available to ALL! Again it's on par with Twolf's, Helm of Retribution, Probably better than Crown of Might, and better than Dragonscale Helm and Mithral Helm. Plus it is usable by all classes.

Earcuff of the Phalanx - Big AC jump out off the ear -- seems way to powerful to me. If it must stay then why not +1/+2/+3 AC instead...teams that equip all 10 +3 AC to everyone is still real good, I mean +30 to AC or +40 to AC!

My friend who plays Cleric is livid at how much his beloved Lenses of Divine Sight are being nerfed, he admits they are too strong...but they are very weak now. Of course he is excited about Gregor's Tome.

I understand what everyone is saying about Kilt of the Barrelbane, but think it should be left as is. First, symmetry with the first two Kilts they both provide +6, with -4 (or -2 and -2). Barrelbane is +6 but also -6. Seems the right stats to me to be in line with the others.

Agree with other no Rogues on the +2 Holy Avenger, please.

Good point on the Hat, there are probably classes where this is too strong. Looking at Wizards, Rogue and Monk in TokenDB, all those classes only have one head item that grants AC at all, which is a Rare from last year (which probably shouldn't have been "all" either). At the least, they shouldn't be included on this Hat. The only Bard AC head slots are last year's Rare and the Mithral Cap, so I'd leave Bard off of this also. The Druid is a bit iffy, but he has last year's Rare, the Dragonscale Helm, and Twolf's Helm, so I could see Druid going either way on it.

It is not +30 or +40 AC. They don’t add acc to other characters. Each character would only get 1-4 AC depending on which version and how many are in the party.
Idon’t think that is what you mean, but just wanted to make sure.
I still would not give up Inspiration on wizards for 4 ac. +4 damage > than +4 ac imo.

Good point on the Hat. I had not thought of that. Traditionally Hats have given non-stat bonuses. The Helm's are where the AC bonuses lie. This Hat is now on par with both the Dragonscale and Twolf's and anyone can wear it. If it's left as a Hat I'd recommend either removing the fire damage reduction bonus or lowering the AC bonus to +1.
Other option is to just change it to a Helm and put some Class restrictions on it.

Earcuff - I think I'm ok with the Earcuff AC levels. Maybe. The more I think on it though I'm really not sure I like the fact that the Ear slot now has an AC enhancer. Never had one before. This gets in to the design space question in terms of which stats should be modified by which slots. But maybe that's not Jeff's concern. It does seem a bit odd though that an Earcuff would give you some sort of protection against an attack. If a change can still be made I'd recommend making this a Cabal item for the casters. Would be nice to see another Cabal item and I think the Ear would be a great slot.
