TOPIC: 2019 Uncommon Token Suggestions

Gambeson concept could be interesting as a shirt that counters a drawback of an uc or rare level armor that has higher AC than it normally would but a drawback.

So like
Transmitive plate +7 AC +1 damage from Fire, Cold, Shock
Insulating Gambeson -1 damage from Fire, Cold, Shock

or if feeling somewhat punny

Chafing plate +7 AC -2 reflex saves
Padded gambeson +2 reflex saves

Basically, build the +1 AC into the armor rather than the shirt, but make the shirt an interesting option (for new players at least) to make the armor more worth wearing.

Power wise, a pure +1 AC shirt might be better as a rare.
Looking at various shirts, I would consider it on par with the Shirt of Vitality +3HP.

Another idea that might be fun as a UC Polymorph Potion.

Potion of Gaseous Form.
Always a favorite of ours in D&D, the only cool in-game use I could see is as a low power polymorph, akin to this years Asp. A choking cloud, attacking your opponent. Maybe a 1, 2, 4, 8 type damage wheel. A +AC for melee, a - AC for area attacks.

Yes, once is bad enough at the UR level. Making it at the uncommon just makes it worse.


I originally had "again" in my text but deleted before submitting as I felt it sounded like I was accusing Matthew for the UR as well.

Uncommon - Charm of the Hunter - Charm - Ranger

+2 damage to favored enemy

Of course, given how unusual favored enemy bonus damage is, could make this worse by making this ...

Ring of the Hunter - Finger - Ranger

+2 damage to favored enemy

Either way, I think uncommon is where you get interesting class specific tokens that interact with special abilities.

Seems a lot over powered for an Uncommon. 2018 Belt of the Berserker is a rare and adds +3 to strength so potentially only +1 but possibly +2.

Not saying it’s a bad idea but probably a better suggestion for Rare token
