Rare - Conflagration Runestone - All

Monsters struck by melee attack under the influence of this rune lose all their Fire immunity/resistance. This loss of Fire resistance applies to attacks by anyone, not just the user of this rune.

I rethought this idea some, changed around the resistance and set bonus:

Rare - Banner of Vitality - Banner Slot* - Fighters, Paladin

In the coaching room, the bearer may allocate 3 HP as they choose among other party members (may not choose self)

* Banner Slot - New slot only available to Fighters and Paladin.

Banner effects would never effect the party card.

The design goal would be to encourage teamwork in the coaching room or tactics in the dungeon.

This would be slotted rather than slotless to avoid stacking banners beyond the 3 per party possible with 2 fighters and a paladin.

Banners transmute to Darkwood Plank (or Mystic Silk?)

I like the banner idea, but given that we just gained shins and beads, maybe hold off a year or two before adding another slot?

Greaves of Xi Power: Monk only
+1 AC and +1 retribution damage if struck by monster

The idea is that the monk's body is his defense. When struck, the monk's body is hard as a diamond and injures the monster.
I think it balances with the -2 rare greaves already out there, and only the AC or retribution damage would work (if the AC boost means the monster misses, then no retribution).

Bead of Warding
Bard, Cleric, Druid: may case level 0 spell as a free action, spell does no damage or healing
I think this solves the trouble of the conversation above. I would like to use some of those level 0 spells more, but they are worthless as a standard action in many cases. Using the free action would allow some versatility. Negating the healing spell (which could be too big of cleric/druid boost), and the damage spell (bard) means only the following are eligible:
Bard: bolster (+1 AC for 1 player), Resistance (+1 saves for 1 player)
Cleric: guidance (+1 to attack slides for room for 1 player)
Druid: detect poison, resistance (same as bard)
I think that is a pretty modest list. I have other items (pouch of Tulz, shield of the scholar) that are competing for that round 1 free action, so I don't think this item is too strong. It is certainly more versatile than the other beads - and beads may be an item where the team is looking to give a SPECIFIC enhancement that is geared toward the dungeon. This could also work as a figurine or even runestone.

Torso slot would need to be 3-4 points lower if Rangers are included.

Also, Rangers don't get access to shields, just bucklers.

Well, I had a long post written walking through a way to fix this, but accidentally hit back on the mouse and lost it.
Short version, if it is restricted to level 0/1 spells that don't heal or cause damage the only thing that might be too strong at rare level is cleric getting a free 'bless' (+1 to hit, +1 against fear for entire party) out in a single combat room.

Other than that it is generally pretty strong for bard due to their ability to cast the same spell multiple times with spell slots per level rather than prepared spells, but anything that lets normal level bards have more variety than just bardsong every round is good. Potentially this would still be a cool token as a new bard instrument. At that point it isn't any better than the blowgun flute, it just allows bardsong + buff each round rather than bardsong + slide.

Unfortunately from a practical standpoint, most combat DMs probably wouldn't be able to handle a bunch of single target buffs modifying the stats from the party card anyway so there'd be minimal real effect other than slowing down slider processing.

I'm not sure the set bonus would be applicable often. Aren't most things that deal lightning damage also immune or at least resistant to that damage? Maybe make it 3 physical damage with the story that it releases the electricity into your arm as you attack boosting how quickly your muscle contracts or something of that nature.
