The easiest time for me is going to probably be lunch on Saturday (I have a dungeon run starting at 1:12PM now). Friday I have TrueGrind ending at 4:30, then transmuting to drop off, then I wanted to hit up the seminar at 7PM. How long does it take? I might be able to fit in a dinner say 5:30 to 6:30...

If you end up going without me it is OK although it does sound great!

Are you speaking Dinner Friday or Saturday around 5:30?
An hour should cover time to do dinner at St. Elmos

Friday at 5:30 would work for me for dinner. I just need enough time to get out of TrueGrind at about 4:30, go to my room, and then drop off my transmutes. And then I'd like to be back for the 7PM seminar.

Kirk, I'm hoping to catch you right after your grind run to complete our trade so I can transmute as well.

Won't work for me sadly, I land around 5:30 at the airport but I need time to unload and clean up after the 12 hour airline day. I'll want to hit the seminar myself, maybe we can snag steak and shake after the seminar or something Friday.

I do plan to do dinner Saturday around 5-6 if anyone is free to join

Oh and packing today I noticed I can currently only find one Elixir of Vitality so I will use that for True Grind.

You got me just before I printed it out. The Excel version would only let me put the Yew and Eldritch runestones in the first slot (even with the Runestone fitting base), so I just selected Yew and I figured you could do the Eldritch Runestone directly with the coach.

Kirk Bauer wrote: Raven,

Do you have any idea if WYC Grind is different than GenCon Grind? Or is it basically the GenCon event held earlier?

This year's WYC Grind difficulty levels will be different in that:

We are trying out a 4th (Epic) difficulty level which is closer to last year's GenCon Nightmare difficulty. This year's WYC Grind Nightmare will be in between last year's GenCon's Hardcore and Nightmare difficulty.

Also note that this year's WYC Grind difficulty levels will be modeled more closely to the GenCon difficulty levels (rather than last year's WYC Grind difficulty). Last year's WYC Grind was a free event, so I felt more comfortable being ruthless and vicious. Since this year's WYC Grind is a paid event, the difficulty will be more akin to that of GenCon (bearing in mind shifts due to the new difficulty level).

Interesting... we might be able to do the new Nightmare then? I'm doing a Hardcore Grind on Friday so I guess I can see how that goes (this party is better equipped I think).

Yes.

I figure there will be a bit of a learning curve as players realize that the new Nightmare is not nearly as nightmarish as the old Nightmare.

Worst case scenario is that people find the new Hardcore to be easier than they expected, which at least gives them a better gauge of the difficulty levels for GenCon.

Also, bear in mind there is a difference between party success rate and individual survival rate. Different players have different tolerance levels for their characters getting killed. Since casualties (aka collateral damage) is more common in Grind, players who really really don't want to die might end up playing at a lower than expected difficulty level to ensure that the whole party lives.
