TOPIC: GT run 2015 finally full

Re: GT run 2015 9 years 1 month ago #85

I'll take 2nd Fighter spot on number 2 group Combat (The Sable Gauntlet combat)!

Yep, I just pulled a GT and came here before finishing opening the rest of my order. Now I'm danged glad that I didn't get the +2 Sacred Sling in a trade and had to order a PYP.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

Did you buy any lottery tickets, if so go out and do it you have a hot streak. On an unrelated note in Sable Combat WE HAVE NO HEALERS. I can actually do a good Druid as well as a ranger if needed

Yep, maybe I should go buy a Powerball or something. I can play Cleric. The team would lose the damage from both my legendary weapons but I can come up with a good cleric build if needed. My problem would be the beads.

I could also play a Druid but the same thing would apply. I'd have very low Melee and ranged weapons. Not that I'd be using them a lot. I also have both a Rod and the Ring so maybe a Druid build would work for the group. Let's see who our next two people are before I switch.

As to difficulty, any of them is fine by me as long as everyone is having fun. I'll have stacks of healing tokens to help out any healers we get.

Just ignore the beads (if you go Cleric, that is).

I mean it: Skip the test.

Unless you really enjoy doing the Cleric test, and it adds to your enjoyment of the game, I recommend ignoring the skill check entirely. Time is the greatest enemy in the dungeon, and the extra 3 or 4 HP from a correct test are rarely worth the 10-20 seconds of hassle as the DM gets out the beads, you select, the DM double checks, puts away the beads & gets the marker out, etc.

If you do go with a healer, I recommend the Lenses of Divine Sight (plus the Charm of Enlightenment, so you can actually use them) - that is a much more powerful healing boost than the skill check is.

Very good point! Time is the biggest enemy especially on a Nightmare run. My problem with switching classes is that I have focused on the fighter classes. While I have a lot of good tokens for them I don't have most of the 'common' UR's for a nightmare run healer.

No Lenses of Divine Sight but I might have a Charm of Enlightenment someplace.

stay with fighter if you feel you have a good damage output. The quicker we kill everything the less healing we need.

we have minor healing from the paladin, and plenty of non card based healing, I carry a pouch of healing tokens, and I hope to have a transmuted pouch for the bonus by then too.
*mental note* always listen to Jeff

Brad do not worry about changing. We can see what happens with the last 2. I can do a nearly fully tricked out Druid with a legendary Ring of Focus, Cabel set, Eldrich Set, lens, Shield of Scholar (and lots of Rare healing scrolls) etc and can heal a lot of Damage. I also like playing Druid almost as much as Ranger (Although I have better equipment for Ranger. First level healing spells cast twice and doing +16 healing twice(+10 for E Set, +5 for Ring +1 minimum for set)really makes monsters frown

Quick comment/question Chip:

I know the 5th level Ranger has a single 5pt heal spell, and using Eldritch2-piece set gives you the +10.. for a 15 pt heal.
Using Carter's Tome lets you cast that spell twice, but it won't give you the Eldritch set bonus: the duplicate spell is cast 'as a scroll" and can't be enhanced by any tokens.

I'm not sure what you mean by the +5 for Ring.

Or were you talking about Druid healing, not Ranger healing?
