I don't want coaches arguing with players over a moronic choice of difficulty. We will warn them once and then move on. Coaches have way too much to do already.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Well said (I was largely agreeing with you).

As you mentioned in another thread: Caveat emptor. If they ask for a difficulty level and end up unsatisfied with it, the responsibility lies with them and their choice.

Another perfect example for my current tag line:

You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

How about a combat room with some sort of giant creature (Balrog?) in which there is a carpet runner down the middle of the room. No combat table is pulled out but the carpet is pulled back to reveal a GIANT board on the floor with shuffle board sized pucks and poles brought out for combat.

Granted size constraints might make this unfeasible.

They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to use. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to use once! Oh - and if you really need to think about whether you're going to use the fireball or the + umpty staff of butt-whooping - you're likely to find yourself full of arrows, or fangs, or nasty knives & swords and such. Don't think - just shoot!

I think this could be put to good use easily, and should provide plenty of light if, for example, hung over the table areas.

While we're talking about dislikes of True Craft...
I didn't have time for it much the first two days due to runs and volunteering. By the time I did have a little time for it, it felt like a complete waste since all the feedback I received (Divine, which had the shortest line) was dungeon-related clues, for dungeons I had already run.

It was a fun kind of thing, but yeah after a day and a half... I really felt like "how's this going to benefit me?"

Why not set up a sale/trade table at the exit? It would require only one volunteer, you wouldn't need to have the door open all the time, and you could have signage pointing adventurers to the exit.

It would be a point-of-sale, wouldn't look like a way in from the outside (especially if you re-use some old set pieces edit: on the outside, to draw people in :edit to camouflage it) and you would have someone at the door to stop people from coming in.

Noob here, my first TD was this year's (2014). I would like to vote for a Grind event on Wed. night - I was thinking of volunteering next year, so I would already be there. If everyone that volunteered wanted to Grind, you could just have volunteers switch out.

In the past (and in the present), I have expressed a willingness to run Grind events on Wednesday. However the main hurdle seems to be logistical or administrative.

It could be a GenCon issue regarding "ticketed events" on Wednesday. Or it could be a TD decision.

Fairly easy to camouflage, as well - depending on setting.

It was my first year this year, so I don't know about lighting in previous years, but I kinda wished for more light - I could barely see my hand in front of my face.
