I am kind of glad the wing effect was changed. I can only imagine how they could have 'broken' a few puzzles.

My fear when it comes to the random effect is that someone will roll for the AoW effect and decide they don't want the result. They equip something different, then pass the AoW to the next person in the party, repeating this process until they get a result that they like.

I don't think the danger of that is any greater than a player getting a roll he likes and then passing it to another player so they get to roll as well.

The coaches already have to watch for that kind of thing. In the end though, cheaters are only cheating themselves of the full experience and challenge.

TD trusts players to track their own HP. That is an ever bigger deal than a few points of AC or a some extra treasure tokens, IMHO.

That would not be allowed, the way Coaching works. Once the Coach sees your AoW and you roll the die, that slot is locked in.

Wasn't it stayed earlier that the roll would be made on the practice room...therefore your build is already locked in?

For 2014, when either equipping an actual Amulet of Wonder or under the AoW effect, you roll a die to determine the effect:

Im sorry, one last wrinkle; do we have to decide on all equipment before rolling? Since this will mostly come up with my parties where we can all roll, and if we have a total of five HoP, give them to the people who didnt roll 5 or 6.


oh, and another clarification: 'phantom' characters (when a player wears more than one wrist-band so the party can run with fewer players) are allowed to equip treasure tokens and party enhancers (synergy, etc). will we be allowed to equip those phantom characters with an AoW to try for the HoP effect? and can they 'wear' a +1 level item to double chances at the HoP?
my opinion: phantoms should be allowed to wear an AoW and roll for the chance, wearing anything else should be a 'no'...because that could start to open up a lot of issues/questions/etc. but I will happily give my phantom a charm of heroism to double the chance if it is allowed.

Wouldn't it just be easier to say:

The AoW wearer may choose to keep the effect of the result rolled or select any one effect of a lower result.

That seems to cover all the possible permutations, short of any Artifact craziness.
