I was lucky enough to be a new player who got to do a sealed run last year learning from the vets. Sponsoring a run this year, I get to give back a little bit. (If I do sealed runs, it keeps me from being tempted to buy a bunch of new purples too, so it's got a side benefit.)

How many greedy sealed runs were there last year. I may be able to sponsor a run if there is enough interest.

If it fits into the volunteer schedule, I'd love to do a sealed run with the group. Could also get the money to the sponsor well before the Con.

I have never done a sealed run and if I can fit it in my volunteer schedule i would love to try if you would have me. And what if a greedy run?

A "greedy" run is one where the participants are allowed to wear Horn of Plenty/Ring of Riches/Charm of Greed, despite other restrictions on which tokens may be used.

They are often allowed as exemptions by parties which are trying to do "dagger only" runs or "red runs" (using no tokens higher than a rare) or "sealed pack" runs, because those tokens don't enhance your performance in the dungeon at all (if anything, they hinder it by using up slots which could otherwise have useful tokens in them). Basically, they preserve the challenge of the run, while still allowing people to benefit from their investment in treasure-generating tokens.

Well said Raven! She hit the nail on it's head!

Also thank you to all of the people who stepped up to volunteer to become sponsors. We should have enough interested parties to do 2 different runs this year (two sets of 2).

More information to come after the event catalog is released.

Thanks for the interest and continued support to all others!!

Nodla, it sounds like this kind of a "Sealed Deck" run is perfect for you then!

You - and your friend if he's along - can both use your Charms of Good Fortune* while equipping yourselves the rest of the way with only what comes out of your starting packs. That way you've got a good challenge, a bunch of good party members (yay for experienced forumites!) and still have a chance to build up your token collection with the bonus treasure which you'll get at the end :)

*"Charm of Good Fortune" is what I meant when I said "Charm of Greed" earlier. Sorry if I was unclear - I've gotten used to reading the acronym CoGF as "greedy fingers" instead of "good fortune."

One of my favorite things about the sealed runs is trying out a class you don't normally play :)
