Better a fly than one of Pinky's toenails.

Well, if the cloning machine is out, we'll just have to copy your guys minds and download them into willing volunteers for the duration of the Con.

Oooh, ooh! May I have Alpha's brain?

(not because I'm a fan of his Dollhouse character, but I'm a huge fan of his, from that other Joss Whedon show which got cancelled *sniff*)

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Okay. I'm going to give my $0.02... it will not apply to Grind since that is separate from TD.

TD is one of, if not the best, "game" at GenCon. Why? Because anybody with no knowledge of what it's about to someone like us who plays numerous times every year and also volunteers can go on an adventure with basic knowledge of the Tokens and still have a great time.

If you add more and more to the Party Card and require players to have to know more and more than it will ultimately be a bad thing. People love games that are basic and don't require breaking out a 20-page rule book while also having to reference a 50-page FAQ Binder for rules that have changed since the Rule Book came out. I point at Heroclix as a prime example. The main reason I don't play that game anymore.

Let's keep TD fun and hassle free. That will keep the casual players coming back. That will guarantee they tell their friends who tell their friends, etc which will guarantee TD grows every year.

I hear every year about certain DMs that obsess with TPKs. Why? If it happens naturally because the Players are playing dumb then so be it. But, if everyone is playing smart and cooperating and having a great time then why try and purposely kill them for no other reason except to notch another TPK on their wall??

TD is far from cheap. A lot of GC attendees can only afford to go through once. I say let them walk away feeling good about the game. Not shaking their heads because all the rules about Tokens confused the heck out of them and they had no idea what was going on with a complicated Party Card that took forever to fill out.

The best solution if it does go that way is to have a basic Party Card. And, have a Nightmare Party Card which covers everything you all seem to want. Then, the Nightmare Party Card can also be used by the Coaches when they see a non-Nighmare Party coming through that is comprised of the regulars (I.E.: Raven, laz, henwy, Team Yeti, me, etc etc etc).
