The problem isn't in getting one or two tickets for a run (if your proactive and order them the first day). It is in getting a run of ten. We want these for two reasons. 1. To preset our characters and know what we are playing. 2. We run with 5-6 and have a set of friends that run with 4-5. So we need the whole set in order to do the runs together. Also, as a team we built the Gertz backpack, so in order to benifit from it the owner needs to be on the same runs as us.

To get around some of this we have multiple people conferenced in and we are booking 2-3 runs per person or at least trying to, and if we get enough runs of 10 we release them back to the pool the ones we won't use. I know of a few groups that do this so they can make sure they have enough runs to get all their friends through. It is a very extreme measure to go through but the crazy on ticket buying has forced some people that want to get 5-6 10 ticket runs at certain times to do so.

So the issue is NOT actually with the quantity of runs, its with the fact you can't buy an entire slot with priority over individual ticket seekers.


Here's a thought. Why doesn't TD replace nightmare runs with a single $440 ticket. Make this a run - present ticket to allow admit of 10 people.
So the run cannot be broken up in the Gencon system. They would not go all that fast, but I'm certain they would still sell out.


FYI last year there were still full runs availble for atleast a day.

Sweet! +1 vote here. I think that would work splendidly. If Jeff does this he'd probably want to be very conservative with it to begin with, maybe only 3 or so such runs to test the waters and gradually up it from there. But that sounds like a solution to many problems right there!

The issue I can see with that is if full run tickets don't align well with hardcore players schedules they might leave entire runs unsold. Or leave late buying newbies with a bad taste if the time they wanted to run was available but they were "forced" to buy the entire slot. What about extending the book a run token perorder lottery to let vols and AG members buy slots through the forums then putting the rest of the slots into the gencon system. Though that might only solve our problems by shifting them to Jeff & co.

I think getting the timing right on them would be critical but I suspect he could sell 30 or more.
I know my group shoots for 4 full runs and I know plenty of others that do the same. It would all come down to the times. maybe just top of the hour every other hour.

I hear you, but honestly if they only offer 2 or 3 such runs to start, they will be snapped up almost instantly.

Last year after 24 hours on sale there were 854 of 7900 slots still available, with 22 full runs still available. After 1 week, 558 slots with 9 full runs still available.

So last year you could have wait a least a week to buy a full run, that said this year may go faster. But my guess is if you have some flexibility in your schedule and act on the first day you will be able to get full runs.

Time will tell I guess.
