Yep.

According to the seller he had offers in the $900 range.
This close to the event getting greedy on sale prices can backfire.

Hopefully he's able to hit the GT event and doesn't lose the token value, that would be the best resolution I can see.

My flight got delayed to the point I'd miss the GT run so I am glad I didn't get either one that were up for grabs
