Feedback Needed on Relic/Legend Event Idea
In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

Jeff Martin wrote: Thanks again all for the great input here. Just wanted to update you on the current direction we are heading. There will be a set of 40 Astral tokens (white backed) included with every 2K purchase. The 2K level of support gives you one admission into the special 4 room dungeon and one set of 40 Astral tokens, along with an Adventurer’s Guild Badge.

The exact makeup of the 40 Astral tokens has not been decided, but we are leaning toward using 40 from the current year’s set. Thus every year, the Astral tokens will change but they will match tokens from that year's set.

All Astral tokens (from that year or any previous year) can be used in the 4 room dungeon along with Relic, Legendary, and Eldritch tokens.

More info will be posted as things develop. Thanks again!

Jeff, sounds good! Is there the chance that if this goes well, next year you might offer an Astral Nightmare option on the regular Dungeons as well? That would really make both these astral tokens and Relics/Eldritch/Legendary tokens extra-special! :)

Hi Jeff,

Do we still get a free bag check with every $2K purchase?

Thanks!
Mike

I see that there would either have to be a ton of relics and a few legendaries in 2014 or we would have quite a bit of open gear spots. If there are Relics for most of the slots, then it would make a huge jump in power creep for the normal dungeon.

The event is meant to be somewhat of a throw back to the old days of taking little equipment into an adventure...

I remember 2005 and 2006 very well. Playing Hardcore while only having 4-5 Tokens for my character. My friends and I always did Puzzle mode so having no Tokens was no biggie.

Astral tokens can be used in the regular dungeons as well, right? Since they are not any different except for the back color and the fact they can be used in the astral dungeons.

Though I still think a selection of reprints would be more interesting, and better fit the throwback theme.

Agreed, but from a logistics standpoint, selecting them from the current year makes token choices not be the difficult thing we were seeing before...also, with this method, 2k buyers don't miss out on getting the full 40 tokens...however, the bard may be relegated to bardsong in combats, unless there's something to help with that in the 2014 set...

So I asked this before, and if it was answered I can't find it, so I choose to ask again: Will these stack for bigger orders? Will an 8K order get four invites, and four sets of Astral Tokens? I ask on behalf of those who split 4K and 8K orders (probably more 8K than 4K)

That's a really, really nice incentive to purchase at the 2K level. Absolutely awesome, can't wait to get the full 2014 development cycle underway, so we can see what goes Astral!

As a small token buyer, I really don't have a dog in this fight, but I am concerned about the diversion of resources (time, effort, volunteers, etc.) this will cause from "regular" True Dungeon to huge token buyers.

But I also understand the need to reward those huge token buyers.
