In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

I am pretty much with you on this one. I have seriously thought about selling off my Paladin(Fighter), doing less runs and just kitting out in Reds token wise. Thought of doing that this year but improved my character and am doing 5 runs anyway  . If the price or party size does go up it will certainly be a push in that direction.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

I doubt we are going to see it come down from 10. Just a doubt. I do hope the price does though.

If I had to choose just one to drop, I would drop the number of players to 8. I'd be willing to pay the same price for that.

I would rather see a price drop since it could accommodate both desires. You want to pay more for few people you can buy out the slots. I want a lower price I cannot add two people if it drops to 8.

Also it would make a few tokens odd if we went back to a hard 8. Charm of Good Fortune and Charm of Synergy.

Except that the dungeon is designed for the number of tickets...while many rooms would be better with only 8, if 10 is the default some rooms will be very awkward with only 8.

The synergy tokens, on the other hand, may require errata to keep people happy.

There are I believe, 812 runs this year, so 8120 tickets.

On the gen con site there are 107 tickets left for sale.

Happily this is a nice healthy level.

I too hope the price drops next year, but will play again when ever possible.

I would hope prices stay the same or go down.... to say $40 per run. I am sure there are a lot of factors that go into higher prices though. Building the new city scape may be part of that, and if so, I am hoping it has a high re-usability factor.

I haven't been playing very long but have played since it went from 8 to 10. I cannot remember a single room that could not be accomplished with 8. Could be I am remembering wrong. The closest might be last year's telephone room where you had to pass tiles along a chain without making more than a whisper. I still believe that room could be done with 8.

I for one don't like errata's unless absolutely needed. I feel it is just messy for those that aren't on top of things like those of us on the boards, but that is me. With TD being a once a year thing most of those that go through the runs don't spend the amount of time on the boards we do. This is not an argument about going from 10 to 8 but just a general dislike of errata.

Sounds like real life adventuring to me...

On a slightly more serious note: That will be the issue no matter the price, size of party, or gear. Put a group of people under a time constraint and a success/failure outcome - that's what a dungeon is, correct? Seeing if a group of people (sometimes people who barely know each other) can work to the benefit of all when their own "well-being" is at stake?

Not sure what errata you mean. If you mean to make 8 the default - that's very unlikely to happen. If you mean to accommodate less than the default - not really, that's what the phantom players are for.
