In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

TOPIC: 3 hours to go

Yep it is a big conspiracy to prevent you from going to GenCon. I actually imagine they figured it was the best time for the majority of people around to be available to buy tickets.

I drove 6hrs over night to ensure I was able to be at my computer ready to go on sunday. Timing will never be perfect for everyone. The best day for the avg person does seem to be sunday.

It is interesting to hear that TD tickets were not the hardest thing to get and didn't sell out in seconds this year. There were still full slots availble late last night when I checked, and some actually at decent times which shocked me.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

Though True Grind events were completely sold out pretty fast. I had ticket in my cart and dumped it accidentally could not get another by the time I got back in line.

So, many of us stack multiple runs in our wish list in hope of getting (for most) the couple of runs we really want. I wonder what effect this has on the overall system.

Perhaps a system that allowed sub prioritization. So you could have choice 1, 1a, 1b, etc. The system only gives you one. That way we don't tie up slots only to dump them later.

The time when the most people are available is not Saturday? Seriously? I have difficulties believing it.

For my Christian friends and colleagues, yesterday was Pentecost which is the next biggest deal in the Church after Easter and Christmas. I mean, seriously, fire. ;)

Okay. I'll stop pushing this now. For my sabbath-holding Jewish friends and colleagues, computer use cannot happen on Saturday unless maybe for pure entertainment. Trying to get tickets would be difficult to argue as anything other than work.

While I will forever be busy on Sundays, most years my partner has the option to stay home. Just not this year, since the guest preacher yesterday was my previous internship supervisor and the person we've asked to do our wedding.

I'm not a proper gamer without some level of righteous indignation, right? ;)

Actually more people work on Saturdays than on Sundays which is why more people are free on Sunday.

Grind tickets went ridiculously fast. I was #100 in line and only got one of the 4 grinds on my wishlist. Though, i know the 'issue' is that the grinds dont overlap. Even if i carted all 4 runs, i later would have dropped 2 of them. And our group was watching and saw several grind tickets pop up and disappear a few times, so im sure others were doing the same.

Jedi, what run got dropped that you didnt mean to?

And then my credit card company called me.... LOL

I got a call from my credit card company about my token purchase.

It was only one ticket for a Thursday night run around 7PM I believe. I actually deleted the wrong thing 2 or 3 times because I was having trouble lining up the X to delete apparently.

It is all good because another group has accepted me into their fold. There was a point when I did see 3 group of 10 True Grind available (~1:30PM) but they conflicted with everything I had already bought by then.

I started at 525 (worst start in the last 2 years) but still netted 4 (10 people) runs on the days I wanted and almost the exact times I wanted. Picked up a single ticket for the first Lycan Puzzle run just because I could. Invited to 1 Grind and 2 runs of Sealed Tokens. Very happy with the experience overall.

There were ton of grind runs, full no less. Since they didn't overlap, what likely happen is some douchenozzle added every single grind run to their wishlist. Actually, quite a few people probably did that or something close to that. The way I know that is around 30 minutes to a hour in, full 10-slot grind runs started reappearing, a couple every 5-10 minutes. At that point I was just running my wishlist for shits and giggles since I had scored 0 runs out of what I wanted and start snagging grind runs out of the blue as they were dropped back into the pool. Unless you were like me doing this or were constantly refreshing the event list you would never have noticed. They would have vanished right away from yoru perspective and stayed gone.

I ended up with 3 grind runs. 2 full and 1 of 8. I'm still working through the logistics but I'll eventually pop the whole list of how many tickets I have open to Synergy.
