In 2013 our plans call for us to add an additional adventure to the event. There will be two consecutive adventure modules, and each module will have two variations of either a combat or puzzle orientation. The first module called “Lycans Afoot” tasks the party to travel through a dark forest in search of a tower, while the second module called “Golembane” challenges the party to reach the top of tower.

I'm considering signing up for the installation team, but I have a question about the badge. How does one handle event registration if our badge is tied to our volunteering? There are a few high priority events (such as True Dungeon, of course) which really require me to buy tickets on the first day of registration.

Also, what's it like on the installation group? Does it spoil the adventure? I've enjoyed TD for the last 3 years, and this seems like a fun way to help out, but without missing much time during the rest of the con.

Thanks!
Doug

If memory serves you buy your badge normally and enter your rubie information when you sign up to volunteer then you get reimbursed through the gencon website at a later point in the process.

TD will send you a secret code. Don't share it. You use it to buy a discount badge and pay zero. You can tie events to it. But if you don't show up, of course, you don't get your badge so you can't pick up your tickets, let alone use them.

Unless I remember wrong. That happens.

Last time I volunteered, the sent me a purchase code and I got my badge ordered for free in plenty of time to get events on the first day. You just pick up your badge at training instead of having it mailed or willcall. not sure if it has changed since then. It saves on so much time and hassle picking up the badge on site or waiting in the mail. Hope this helps and if I am wrong feel free to correct  me!

Also, is there any way to confirm that our application was received and everything is A-OK? Just want to make sure I didn't mess it up royally and need to reapply

send an email to volunteer#truedungeon^com (change the # and ^ characters, of course)
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

One more question. When we get the confirmation email, ill it tell us if we are approved for part-time,full-time etc and what we are selected for? I was planning on buying my badge while I had the funds unless I am approved for the part-time shifts and the badge being paid for. Just saving money where I can. Thanks!

Thanks for the good questions. You will be told if you qualify for a free badge, but not whether you are part-time or full-time. Your shift schedule won't be coming until late-April/early-May.
