Hey Gary,

Knowing that I don't have any of the listed items that you are looking for(+2 cloak, etc), is there something else you consider trading for the thunderstone?

Lots of things - just not easy ones to part with...

Ring of feather fall, +1 cloak, elixer of life, might even take gems/gold.

Personally, I would much rather have an elixir of life than any other magic item. That way, you can save your friend(or yourself even?) when they die so that they can enjoy the entire adventure. I value that much more than even a magic swords. What value is a magic sword if you fell to your death? I know according to Raven, you could trade 2 elixirs for a sword, but I politely disagree.

I wonder if you might explain why you think that it's not worth that much? And also wonder if you might have an extra for trade since we seem to value it much differently.

Now, onto the item at hand, just how much in gems/gold would I need to scrape together for you to be interested in trading the thunderstone.

I think an elixir is the best potion no doubt! It ranks higher than any scroll in my opinion also.

But is it better than a wand of cure light wounds that has 5 charges, or a magic sword that works in every fight...in my opinion, no it is not.

I guess my bias is I would do the dungeon again with or without my friends to try and survive into the final room rather than trade away a magic weapon to have an elixer in my pouch. I do not own an elixir - but would pay 200 gold to own one - that is about all it is worth to me - where as a +1 quarter staff might get 400 gold from me.

The Thunderstone gold value is up in the air - it is not an item I am anxious to cash in for gold - but rather I would like to trade it for something I would use.

Alas, I bought 2 bags pf tokens and was lucky to get a ultra rare, gauntlets of ogre power. I traded them for an elixir at the inn during Gen Con Indy.

Also, if you don't get any other offers for the thunderstone, and decide you are willing to trade the thunderstone for gold, please let me know. (Except for a wand, or the elixir, I don't think its worth it to trade a permanent for the current non-permanent items).
Would you be willing to trade any of the utility scrolls for gems, like identify, knock, or keen edge?

Thanks for the heads up on the postal delivery! Glad our trade went so quickly. (no slam intended Andrew but my patience is gone.)

As for Gold for the T-stone and scrolls - I would like to hold off on that as I really don't need the gold at present (now over 1000gp).

I will be going to INDY so I will hope to make some trades there.

1000 gold, wow! That being the case, thanks for trading at all with me. How many bags did you buy!?
Also, wondering if you know about how much you started with, to verify if my conjecture about the approximate amount of gold per bag is correct?

If my residency program allows, I will also be at Indy. Maybe we could meet up? Or, even better, maybe a bunch of us from this forum could meet up? I should have a few useful tokens to trade by then.

The trade was my pleasure - a pretty even trade, and the way I see it, I need to spread the wealth as far as standard items go...

As for the gold breakdown, I got 377 in my first 15 bags (which was LOW) and I got 705 in my next 18 bags (which was high).

Including your trade I now rest at 1,138 to be exact.

As for INDY - It would be great to meet...I will be there Tuesday through Sunday and putting in my time as a volunteer.

I do not have a "crew" to run the dungeon, so if I can offer up my Cleric services - I will join you.
