TOPIC: Official word on Ingredients and the 2010 4C token

I like that idea. Of course I'm one of the ones that didn't get 1 creeper thorn.<br /><br />Larry

<br />A suggestion for the 4C token for 2010 would be to allow players to use ingredient tokens from previous years in place of 1 of the 6 necessary 2009 ingredient tokens.  From all of the posts I've seen most people didn't draw a Creeper Thorn for whatever reason - problems with boxes, didn't run Five Aspects because they ran TD Retro at True Realm, etc.  It also seems that those that did pull Creeper Thorns are also holding on to them tightly as I've seen more people actually looking for them than offering them for sale/trade.  This would also be a reward for long time players who are now holding on to ingredient tokens from previous years that have no real use at this point.  <br />

<br /><br /><br />There's a glut of Stirge Spittle / Mind Flayer Ooze / Outsider Feather, so I think that would make the 4C almost too easy....

I only have 1 creeper thorn. I am voicing my opinion to keep it like it is. Then the 4C will be that much of a harder item to create.

I agree - I like the 4C token to  be extremely difficult to make.

<br /><br />I agree that the 4C should be hard to make as well, and not change rules midstream. This is coming from a person who, when coming home from GenCon, I had 0 Creeper Thorns. It forces one to go on the forum, to do trades (which is part of the token schema). etc.

By this same logic...HAVING tokens (such as NOT buying the mini-bags) forces the FUN schema of doing reserve bars and trade items...something that was created for customer enjoyment, and convience, IF THEY SO CHOOSE to partake.<br /><br />Sorry maybe this belongs in the Mini-bag debate...but I'm making points all over the board today (putting off painting the baseboards I put down yesterday!)

It seems like, if Jeff goes with mini-bags, and lets customers pick their ratio of regular or mini-bags, everyone wins.  If people want just regular 10 packs, they can get all of those.  If customers want some or all of the mini-bags, they can get those too.  And True Dungeon might be able to save on postage and on token costs for those that do buy mini-bags.  I haven't decided how many, if any, mini-bags I'd purchase, but I don't mind having the option. 

Sure options are nice to have...but maybe it was just the original wording I was worried about.

As someone who is still looking for a couple of creeper thorns I like the idea of a substitution, but agree that it is a little too easy one for one.  How about a set of ingredient tokens being allowed to replace any 1 token.  That would keep the value of the 4C item up, wouldn't it?
