Well now that is special...hopefully those troopers around me also get such a title - it is a badge of honor indeed for all who got bruised, bumped, battled coloplast, and sweat the many hours it took to get things set-up, run and torn down.

Thanks for a great time everyone with TD - Jeff - Directors - Volunteers - Gamers that played...

I will be writing my best memories of TD saga and posting in a day or two.

It is simple to get a full set of ultra rares.

Step 1. Buy enough tokens to pay for a used car.

Step 2. Move into the Tavern for the entire GenCon (Either volunteering or trading 24/7)

Step 3. Trade your rares away at very generous rates for purples. Basically make people trades they cannot refuse.

Step 4. Be a colorful character, it attracts the folks with purple tokens.

So it is simple. Expensive and hard work but simple. (at least that is what the person who did get the full set did.)
NOW this is the Law of the Jungle — as old and as true as the sky;
And the Wolf that shall keep it may prosper, but the Wolf that shall break it must die.

As the creeper that girdles the tree-trunk the Law runneth forward and back —
For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack.

I think you forgot one there, George:

5. GIVE AWAY valuable red tokens to parties going into the dungeon, with no strings, only asking that they 'remember you' if they come out with anything good to trade.

... And for the record, I was keeping an eye, and an ear, on the trading in the tavern (just to make sure new players weren't being fleeced for their treasure)... Silkie was trading top dollar for those tokens. He put in a lot of hard work to get his ultra rare set, and I hope no one holds it against him.

Fast Jack, thanks for adding atmosphere to the tavern, and making the adventure more enjoyable for hundreds of new players.

Wasn't it also possible to have participated in the Rouges Game for some super prize - not sure if it was an Ultra-Rare - but I thought I heard there was something good for participating...

Also - did anyone beat Death in Vahalla - rolling a natural 20 - was that for an Ultra-Rare or was that for a second chance at life in a hardcore dungeon run???

I think I heard of one player had beat death, not sure about any others.
Its funny how something that takes multiple days to set up comes down in a few hours...

I actually heard it too - I was just wondering if SHE was going to take a bow for what must have been the rarest of feats in the dungeon!!!

I don't hold it against him but is it ok to be jealous?

I've gone from being green to purple seeing as how he now has a full set.

Silkie if you are out there...I am looking for the +1 Plate and +1 Ring - and I will be trying my luck on eBay for the Ring of Evasion.

I mention this in case you come across extras or can deal someone trading such items directly to me...master of all trades that you are.

I have a +2 Great Sword and +2 Dagger up for trade...plus reds of course...for anyone who may want several reds for a purple...

The True Dungeon Staff gave me a bag full of tokens to distribute as prizes for the Rogues Game. It was full of Common and Rare but some people (glancing at Silky) gave up some of their own Very Rares to toss in. For most of the game, it was approx half brown / half green, with 3 reds tossed in. Someone even pulled one of the reds as a prize!

On Saturday evening, I took a short break to chat with some people behind the scenes, and came back with a purple token to add to the pouch. So, on Saturday there was actually a chance to win a purple token in the game. No one got it, though.

After the Riddle Reveal, I talked with people who had played in the Rogues Game, and with people who wanted to play but didn't get the chance. Got some very good feedback for next year (thanks to everyone who gave input, or volunteered to be a mark for next year). Then, to put some icing on the cake, we added a few more tokens (including one of my own Elixir's of Life, and a Necklace of Fireballs) and let everyone take turns drawing from the bag until all the tokens were gone.

I can't guarantee the pot will be so rich next year, but many thanks to TD and independant players who made it a fun and profitable experience for the rogues out there.

(And yes, someone beat Death... left-handed, even!)
