TOPIC: Spoiler Alert! 2008 "Hope for the Lost" Proof Module is HERE!

That sounds like a great idea. By the way, that B1 module, with all of its simplicity, was a fantastic base from which to draw all kinds of ideas and modifications that we used for our own dungeons, and it could be used as a base for TD as well. You don't need every souped up monster in the book to have a great dungeon. Just simple suspense, challenge, threat of death (if not some death), surprises, requirement to consider and plan, and enough treasure to appeal to our greedlust.

Dave, can one of the ticket stubs be from the vol. run?<br /><br />And can someone tell us token-poor peasants what the token surprise was?<br />

Along with the MOD there was a Rod of Seven Parts (pt. 1) token.<br /><br />There was also a DVD for the golden ticket folks.

The DVD is of the Golden Ticket Run.  I haven't watched it yet, but I'm looking forward to doing so.  <br /><br />For those that don't have one, the Rod of Seven Parts, Segment 1, adds +1 to Maximum Hit Points, and doesn't take a slot.  It's probably a reasonably good guess that the Rod of Seven Parts, Segment 2, might be a bonus with the module next year?  =)

I think the rod was errata to be 1 handed (for now, as I am sure once we have 5+ parts it will go to 2-handed, but then again it is magic)

For the rod to go 2 handed - we had better see a damage wheel on it (or some sort of combat damage) otherwise, you might as well call it the rod of passivity.<br /><br />I dunno, is an old-school Rod as heavy or as long as a staff?  I thought they were lighter and not as long.  And were all rods weapons, or were some just magical conduits?

Even making it one-handed makes it pretty useless.  I don't think many people would give up the weapon or shield slot for an item that gives you +1 HP. 

I guess we'll have to wait and see just what the other parts add to it.<br /><br />Kim

A while back, I got out the 1st ed DMG to look up the RoSP.<br />Looks like each part has its own unique power and, as sections are added, more "set" powers are gained.  Such as, combine Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 and you receive the benefits of all three parts, plus an additional 1-2 powers.  Similar to the "Diablo sets" which I believe Jeff said he was fond of.<br />Should be interesting to see how this develops over the years.<br /><br /><br />John
