Does "Ricky the Wonder Horse" ring any bells?

C'mon Jammies and Henwy!

It makes me think of Steve Martin. And even though I have never seen the movie, I'll throw out a wild guess of Parenthood.
If that's wrong, I have absolutely no idea.
Tom thinks it's an old Tom Hanks movie called Bachelor Party, where a horse licks up a bunch of dope and keels over.

It's kinda familiar - I remember some movie where there was someone of Asian background that couldn't say "r" who said "Licky" instead of "Ricky". I was thinking Sixteen Candles and Long Duk Dong, but I don't think that's it.

This is a very obscure cult movie that you probably had to see the one time it was shown on network TV back in the early 80s. It represents well the silly 80s comedy that I love so well.

It starred some great actors: Geraldine Page, Hume Cronyn, Jessica Tandy, William Devane, Beau Bridges and Daniel Stern

The director, John Schlesinger has made some other good movies:

Midnight Cowboy (1969)
Sunday, Bloody Sunday (1971)
The Day Of The Locust (1975)
Marathon Man (1976)
Yanks (1979)
Honky Tonk Freeway on DVD (1981)
The Falcon And The Snowman (1985)
Pacific Heights (1990)

The movie is "Honky Tonk Freeway" and you can read a synopsis here: www.thespinningimage.co.uk/cultfilms/displaycultfilm.asp?reviewid=1118

You can see the big crash scene here:

(BTW, it is not a musical!)

And the quote is in the movie when some Japanese children see a horse running free. They have read the movie's main character's pathetically bad children's book called "Ricky the Carnivorous Pony" -- and they are afraid of being eaten by the horse. (You had to be there.)

If you like stupid, silly awesome 80s comedies, you can't go wrong with "Honky Tonk Freeway".

And would somebody please make Brian watch "Shakes the Clown"! It is the paramount work of art of our generation. He must watch it!

www.imdb.com/title/tt0102898/

Binky Lives!

Okay - now back to the original topic...

You Rule, Jeff! (you and Lori and anyone else who thought to add a "token" of their appreciation)

This little "thanks" has me desparately trying to figure out how I can afford $1k of tokens for 2009. Wife still says, "you cannot afford them."

Very cool - THANK YOU.

My wife called me to tell me that a package had arrived....
Can't wait to get home and take a gander at the module! (and fondle the token repeatedly)

Any chance of you letting us know what the rest of us are missing out on? Or do we want to know...?

Well...assuming everyone receives the same thing... and those purchasing the "module" limit each year received more to the same atrifact, let's just say it could drive up (or at least maintain "module"-level) sales for the next six years.
