Dave, you should check out the pictures at this link:

www.gemselect.com/other-info/gemstone-list.php

There are some great pictures - I especially like mystic quartz, azotic topaz, citrine, imperial topaz, and fire opal.

Mike
I believe the categories are Scrolls, Items, and Rare Weapons & Armor. The Scrolls and items can be common, uncommon, and rare, at a turn-in ratio (I think) of 1:3:6.

Just so I am clear on the ratio thing for gear and scrolls:

If I wanted to make a Alchemist Parchment, assuming it needs 25 "units"
I could turn in 25 common scrolls
OR
6 uncommon scrolls + 1 common scroll
OR
4 rare scrolls + 1 common scroll.

Also is Gear defined as anything that is not armor, weapon, scroll, ammo, or Potion? Would this include rings, cloaks, 1 shot weapons (alchmist fire, thunderstone), food.
I ask because I can see some sorting time ahead to get ready for these new trade item tokens.

Yes, you have the scroll idea correct, any mix of different rarities (assuming you want to give them up) will work as long as they add up to 25 units.

Originally I was thinking about tokens that were classified as "Gear" (see the gear section in the guide). These tokens used to have the word "Gear" clearly at the top. Then it was pointed out that there were some other things that were "Gearlike" that should fall in this category. So I will say that if it is listed in the "Gear" or "Miscellaneous Items" category in the token guide, it is eligible.

I will do my best to get a guide update out before the new tokens are available so you will know which of the new tokens fit into this category as well.

Dave

And we are reprinting some Dwarven Steel and Minotaur Hides...

Does that mean with new pics on the tokens - or just a new supply of the same stuff?

Knowing that there will be = or more Darkwood planks being trade for, I hope many such tokens are printed, rather than running out like what happened to the dwarven steel.

I don't think so, because the Armor and Weapons have different trade tokens for the different rarities.

I might have missed something, but I thought the Directors had said that all of the "2008" items would again be available in later 2008 or early 2009. I sure hope so - I haven't traded in for any of those yet.

I would, however, like to have some idea of what they'll be used for and how many we'll want...and whether or not we should turn in "all of our spares" now or if there will be future Trade Items requiring the same formula (gear and items, weapons, etc.).

JKW

One other suggestion (if it hasn't been done already).
Let's keep a Closed Thread where only the Directors post so that they can keep all of the formulae, ratios, and news in one place.
It's getting confusing trying to figure out what is in stock, what isn't, what is going to be reprinted and what isn't, etc..

Thank you,

John
Common, Uncommon, Rare ratios - 1:3:6
Darkwood Billits (planks) for Gear/Items (So I will say that if it is listed in the "Gear" or "Miscellaneous Items" category in the token guide, it is eligible.)
Alchemists parchment for scrolls
Aragonite for rare weapons and armor

Dave - I was reviewing the Trade Item postings as I'm trying to clear off all the tables in the basement tonight so I can build a presant for my children tomorrow.
While I don't anticipate an answer tonight, I'm hoping you can confirm some information.

Is it true that we can use any combination of Common, Uncommon, and Rare tokens (type as indicated) with a ration of (1:3:6) towards the Trade Items listed to be made up of 25 "common" tokens?
For the Aragonite, do we truly need Rare items, or could, say, two uncommon tokens be used in place of a single Rare?
Will the Aragonite require 25 "Rare"-worth tokens?

Thank you,

John
