TOPIC: Proof Ultra Rare Tokens

Re: Proof Ultra Rare Tokens 15 years 6 months ago #61
Nice poem. It made me think of this:

How about Drow Shield?

I can't take credit... it is an Offspring song... just that idea "Drow, come out and play" triggered it for me. :-)
Legally... its questionable. Morally... its disgusting. Personally... I *like* it.

You guys are hilarious and that was an awesome offshoot Whiskey Jack! I am sure it made some Drows proud. Others are probably targeting your life. =D

Lady Myke

I'll save my poem for the poetry section
meconium

sorry - could not resist!

oh come now - does this idea stink or what?

Yeah, that's pretty bad. It's so bad I hope it doesn't "stick"!

I know there has been alot of excitement of the new "onyx" backs, even I voted for the idea. But today when I dropped something in the dim darkness of my room, I suddenly realized the danger of a black backed token. Its harder to heck to find something that is black on the floor of a dim room with a dark carpet. Now while this would not be a danger for most tokens being secured in one of many conviences, I can see it as a risk to Proof Weapons.
So while I am excited about the idea of different color, I am not so enthusiastic about black backing when there is risk. So perhaps we can go with a nice white/ivory backing instead.

Just a thought.

Probably not a standard issue color or plastic available for proofs. My concept for white, is since most DMs have Detect Magic UV lights, they would be easy(ier) to spot if it was really needed (and really stand out in rooms like the angels room).

Like ANYONE would actually SLIDE a PROOF token...

There has to be a way to keep that rarity safe and sound and put something else in harms way...?

I loaned my proof to my nephew to slide, actually.

Gary,
I'm afraid I'm guilty of sliding a proof weapon as well. My Broadsword of Life Stealing is a proof.

Kim

Unless you are buying for non-proof PYP if you choose a proof weapon you are going to slide it. That is why I agree black is cooler, white might be better.

I think it's erroneous to believe that there are a plethora of color choices. We know black exists because previous black tokens were printed. there's been no indication that white even exists.

Doesn't the mere existence of black inferentially prove the existence of white, even if white has never actually been seen?

The absence of color somehow proves that all colors must exist? I doubt it.
