How about +2 Viscous (sp) Double Edge Sword. Deals one point of damage to wielder for each successful attack.

How about an intelligent, +2 Vicious Bastard Sword named "Sid"? :-D

If Sid dances too you have my sword from my AE game lol. Good idea's though.

You make a good point. Why not the cleric? Which class is more viscerally opposed to the undead? In that case, you would need a non-edged alternative to the mithral sword. Could you allow Gearon's mace to fulfill that requirement and consider the set complete that way in the case of the cleric?

I would personally like to see an "of the Underdark" and "Troll-hide" set as well someday. =D

I would like to see an Undead Hunter(slayer) Set.

The Mithril set is kind of an "undead hunter" set- the sword negates corporealness issues, the helm protects from undead mind control... all depends on what the next items do, if they back up that stream of thought.

Undead hunting set...where...oh RIGHT! The Cleric can't use it!

Makes sense to me - snub the Cleric...but give the Druid everything! TREE HUGGERS!

Umm, Bro, Druids can't use the Mithral set either. The only cool exclusive the Druids have - Dragonscale Armor, the Cleric can also use. I'd gladly trade the +2 Keen Scimitar for the +2 Gearon's Mace.

And - every tree needs a good hug every now and then =D
Umm, Bro, Druids can't use the Mithral set either.

But yeah I knew that - but tell me how does a no metal wearing class get such pretty armor - and a SET no less...

Jeff is a TREE HUGGGER LOVER - no hiding that! (just look at the saves! - oh now I'm getting started!!!)

Just lucky I guess - it's a couple of AC points less than top armor for the Tank classes, but I'm very happy to have it! =)

I forgot in an earlier post about not having much in this set for the Druid class. It does have the Dragonscale Shield, so that all the Druids that didn't get the wooden version of the Shield can complete their Dragonscale set. I'm sticking to my wooden token Dragonscale Shield though, it suits my Druidic nature more than these metallic-plastic composite tokens (wood=good, metal=yuck).

ahem, taken from the player guide: Rangers revere the living and loath the abomination of the Living Dead, therefore Rangers gain a special bonus +1 against undead as representation of their desire to vanquish the world of these vile creatures.

so, the mithral set is very suited to us rangers. :) and if you want gaerons mace to count for the mithral set, then rangers will be able to use the mithral set +1 extra (we do get to use two weapons, you know), would we get a super set bonus for that? ;)

and what is with the attention to the vicious sword now? i suggested that at least a week ago and hardly got noticed.

True enough- I was just milking it for the last drop. :-D Who wouldn't love an obnoxious sword named Sid with a heavy cockney accent?

ahem, taken from the player guide: Rangers revere the living and loath the abomination of the Living Dead

I thought Rangers just had sworn enemys...be they ORC or Goblin or Undead...

What version of D&D gave them +1 to hit Undead? And do they still have sworn enemies?

I always did Rangers as having sworn enemys (which they picked) and they were usually wilderness type monsters.

As for TD realm - I can live with Rangers having Undead Boons, but does it make sense, I dunno...why have two classes geared VS one type of monster? And then - why create sets that target that same class too but make them for the other CHAR Classes? - so now several others target them too. (Maybe I'm missing the bus here, and having a specific CHAR Class have a specific Monster enemy is out of style..??)

BUT I digress - we are way off topic...apologies!

i believe the +1 vs undead for true dungeon IS representing the sworn enemy. we are basically playing pre-made characters and we just equip them, so all the class abilities have been choosen for us (such as the ranger favored enemy, and spell lists for casters).

As long as it is not an obnoxious Othar Triggvasson voice that my husband uses for one of his intelligent swords. Of course he named it Anvil and man is it annoying(and funny). At least it's the paladins sword and I don't have to deal with it directly. LOL!

Lady Myke

Ok, one more "stab" at the sword... heh, heh...

+2 Sword of Valor (3,4,7,8,11,12) Fighter "Wielder continues to fight at up to -5 hit points."

If the user drops to -6 or less, or immediately after the combat ends, the user dies. (i.e. if you have a fighter using this weapon, and she is -1 to -5 hit points, *make sure* you heal her before the end of combat!)

Oil of Smiting - the word criticals should be capitalized.

I really like the change to the +1 and +2 arrows. Great idea.

Mithral Cap needs work on the picture. You couldn't just look at it and know that you are looking at something that goes on your head. What about a spike on top or some kind of guard near the ears? But, I like that it gives the Ranger head armor and has another not too powerful effect.
<Insert clever saying here>
