Does the 3 points of damage from the double edge happen regardless of whether the original slide was a hit?

<br /><br />I am glad my brain is not the only one that is a little fried!    :confused2:<br /><br />This should be about it.  I won't bug you guys anymore after this one last post.<br /><br />Give me your thoughts on these final changes:<br /><br /><br />Circlet of Elemental Mastery:  Okay, so you aren't thrilled with the graphic.  I will get another one.  I was going for the whole "the 3 different gems represent the 3 types of damage" thing, but I am getting no love for that.  I will go with something more medieval.<br /><br />Crown of Might:  The other two items will be the Orb of Might (it will take up a shield slot, but anyone can use it) and the Scepter of Might (weapon - anyone can use).  These items are all about making yourself more powerful in combat -- but at a cost.  The Orb will have the ability to absorb two points of damage from each melee attack, while the Scepter is a +1 2-9 weapon that reduces the monster's AC by one every time it hits (-4 AC limit per combat).  If one person is so lucky or brazen as to possess all three Objects of Might, that person is raised to 4th level.  Note, however, that the objects of Might are greatly hated by all evil creatures and these creatures will get +2 to hit you.<br /><br />Mithral Helmet:  Someone sent me a cool pic of a steel cap (honestly, I did not know they existed!) so I think I will take the good suggestion and make it a Mithral Cap usable by normal helm users plus Bards and Rangers (sorry Rogues!)  It will have this power:  "Adds +1 to AC plus immunity to undead mind control".  I had to knock it down to +1 AC since so many classes can use it.  Besides, it's small.  This set will have a 3-item and a 5-item set power.  The 3-item power: +2 to hit with the Mithral sword vs. undead.  The 5-item power will be released in 2011.<br /><br />Let me know what you think...this one LAST TIME!  :occasion16:    :occasion18:    :laughing7:<br /><br />I am going to go take my pills now...<br />

<br /><br />No, it has to be a hit.  It does 3 points to the monster (plus character's STR modifiers) plus it does just 3 points to the Fighter (no STR or "20" modifer's).  Just 3 points.

If they were the orbs of might, you could give them a dazzle effect.

<br /><br />Oh thank the powers that be, that the Mithral Helmet can be used by Rangers.<br /><br />Question about the Might Trio - If the combined might of the 3 grants +1 level.  If the AoW ever repeats what it did in 2008 (+1 Level) would the effects stack?  Also would the bearer of all 3 items be the target of the enemies first attack (like the old double edged sword) or would it be random?

I still think the double edged is pumped up too much with too little downside, but I'm too tired to argue about it anymore. It's just a matter of risk. The whole attacked first brought real risk so it should have real reward. 3 points is never going to provide risk for any fighter if it's a flat amount. Adding str bonuses would actually make it potentially dangerous, though still unable to cause instadeath.

<br /><br />Would they stack?  Um...sure, but I seriously doubt that I would repeat that AoW effect any time soon.  The Bearer does not get any special attention from monsters like the Sword was going to have (too many problems), it is just that when the monster(s) DO attack that player they get the bonus to hit.

I was definitely going to pass on the Crown of Might once the immunities were taken away - it would just be a +1 ring of protection, and there are other cool hats out there, esp. the one with the save bonuses - how about make it a true UR on it's own, and make it +1 AC & +1 ST?<br /><br />However, it's a kewl part of the "Mighty Three," so I guess it's back in contention.  Although making the wizard mightier in combat may not really be a great idea - why get blood on my shiny dagger when I can Scorching Ray something to death?<br /><br />So now my PYP is down to either the Charm or the Crown.  The Circlet would be kewl for my wiz, but between spells, scrolls, and wands, I don't really need a circlet to change the type of damage I want to inflict.<br />

<br />Here are the latest images of the Ultra Rare tokens.  There have been some changes...thanks to your good feedback.  Some of them....some of you...won't like much!<br /><br />Circlet of the Arch-Druid:  We killed the charges on this token thanks to the great idea of DarkRose50.  Now, basically, the Druid can use it once per adventure provided she gives up two 2nd level spells (or twice if she is 4th level).  We killed the extra damage on a "20", too.<br /><br />Have another look!  Thanks.<br /><br />

<br /><br />Hi Jeff,<br /><br />Can you answer a few questions about the Circlet?  (I think I already know some of them, but would like verification).<br /><br />1)  Does the Circlet take the helm slot, or can you wear it along with a helm?  <br /><br />2)  Will you still get the benefit of all your slot items (rings, gauntlets, girdles, etc) while in Bear form?<br /><br />3)  What are the current 2nd level Druid spells that we have to pick from to activate the Circlet? <br /><br />Thanks!<br />Mike
