Mithral Helmet - thought the idea was to let the Ranger wear this so that the Ranger class could complete the Mithral set.  I would let the Ranger wear it.<br /><br /><br />I agree with this. It should bve useable by the Ranger

Huh, I see my PURP desires dropping. First the Boots of Speed, now the Charm, and probably the Double-Edged Sword since I was going to combo them.<br /><br />There's a reason I use +2 weapons, and buff myself up the wazoo... it's not for the damage, it's so I can hit anything. Never even slid a 20 in all of True Arena.

OK, I ask b/c one should never assume.  Does Questor's charm get activated by wizards sliding for Melf's acid arrow or Scorching Ray?  I would think yes if cast as spells, not as scrolls, but would like to be sure.<br />

Double edged sword is a very interesting, but potentially totally over-powered item. More than any other item, it fundamentally alters combats.<br /><br />Boots of the underdark are awesome. I am very excited about them! As far as I am concerned, they are a must have item for a rogue.<br /><br />Questor's Charm of Luck, in my opinion, is underpowered for a purple. Getting a 20 is pretty hard. I know that it is a slotless item, but it's hard for me to be excited a about it.<br /><br />Crown of Might is a cool item that it pretty cool for most any non-fighter class. Same for ring of fire elemental command.<br /><br />Overall, I think the list looks great.

I have been in 13 combats (over the last 3 years), with an average of 2.5 slide rounds per combat and 6.5 people sliding tokens (per slide), that makes 211 slides.  Over that time one 20 (the fighter (not me) killed the mdeusa).  <br /><br />Now my group may be bad sliders, but I just don't see the "average, occassional" player who plays once a year getting much higher odds.  It's not that I'm uncoordinated (I averaged 190+ in bowling leagues for many years (199 was my high average) and I can shoot in the mid 80's (low 80's on occasion) in golf) but I just don't get enough practice sliding a token.  Put on top of that the chance that someone will knock you off, I don't like my or any random person's chances.<br /><br />Besides, you already get a benefit for sliding a 20.  Why make it worth more?<br /><br />And really, do we want Henwy to hog all the glory???????  LOL!!!!!!!!

I guess jeff's won me over on the Charm thing... I too think the HoP is over powered ( as do most of us who don't have one ) so the 1 free token / 20 is a pretty good compromise.<br /><br />as for how often folks slide 20's.. Practice.  when the Commando group ran through, we were averaging 1.3 "20"'s / round.  had our group had those... Some folks would have been Rolling in the $$.<br /><br />Besides.. this'll give you one more reason to Bump the ranger's 2 crits off the 20 spot so you can get 1 more token...  =D

<br />I'm liking the Charm, too.  Slotless is a great feature, and it really will make sliding more exciting.  I hope it won't be tough for the DMs to track, though.<br />

<br /><br />I had that assumption too. The Bard has the same dilema of being able to use the mithral chain and longsword, but not the helmet.
