TOPIC: 2009 Uncommon Tokens -- Feedback please!

The sling bullets of fire and frost look like donut holes covered with frosting to me. Maybe if they had some kind rune they would look better. Every thing else looks amazing.

You should sell some Caps of the Owl (full size) at True Realm. We could get our names embroidered on the back.

Anyone recognize that hat?

Sorry about the Bardsong corn-fusion. It does say +1 to hit and +1 to damage at the bottom of the Bard character sheet -- and we included this fact in a question in our online DM exam.

I think I will just go with this:

+1 to hit enhancement to Bardsong

That is probably best.

Unfortunately, the previous masterwork and Lidseth's tokens say +2. The current guide spells out what the masterwork bonus adds up to but the WML is a little confusing. If we add text to WML that spells out the bonus, that should cover it.

(something along the lines: The lute provides an enhancement to the Bardsong with the total bonus of +1 to hit and +2 damage.)
So - is Widseth's Lute a total of +3 Damage, or +2 Damage? I'm still corn-fused...

The way I would read it, it would be +1 to hit, +3 to damage using the lute. +1/+1 for Bardsong and +0/+2 modifier for the Lute. The Token Guide reads, "...adds +2 to the damage effect of a Bard's singing."
Legally... its questionable. Morally... its disgusting. Personally... I *like* it.

I think the token guide needs some work. The Masterwork Bard's Instrument is pretty clear that it is an additional +1 for a total of +2. But the Lute says that, "like the Masterwork Bard's Instrument, the Lute adds +2 to the Damage Effect of the Bard's Singing". So, that would mean that it is a total of +3, except that it says it is like the Masterwork Bard's Instrument, which clearly says that it is a total bonus of +2.

Help, Jeff & Dave!!

I wonder if Caps of the Owl would really sell. It could be cool.

Kim

Heh, =) I smile only because this was something that was noted on the Token Guide thread last week, so I am glad to see it getting second hand attention.

Now as for the two armors Hamata and Squamata. The Hamata was the roman equivalent of Chain Mail (AC +5) and the Squamata as Scale Mail(AC +6), I figured they would have the same class restrictions as before, and while it is hard to tell unless you have seen the armor before, the Hamata art is a chain shirt with tie on pauldrons, and the Squamata art is scale armor. Now we do have Oakspirit armor which is better than the Hamata because more classes can use it. But I am okay with more armor as it will make it easier to create the reserve token (Elven Bismuth).

Scroll Hypnotic Pattern needs class - but I am sure that was already pointed out.

As for the spear discussion, the reason for it to be usable by all classes is due to the fact that the previous spear (Masterwork Spear) also fell in that category. Something that was rejoiced by Halfling rogues everywhere as it did more damage than the rare +1 shortsword (9 vs 7), so I see it remaining as the same as that combo item with one less damage, thus staying consistent.

As for the discussion of what a cleric can or cannot use - I see 2 weapons usuable by Clerics as UC (Hammer and Staff), and 3 common (sling, cudgel, and shillelagh). The wizard picks up 2 more commons (the Dagger and Pugio), but only gets the staff as an UC.

The wording of what classes is a different between the Kopis and the Trident. Is it supposed to be Barbarian & Fighter (Kopis) ..or... Barbarian or Fighter (Trident) - we should be consistent and as such I think the wording on the Trident needs to be changed to be Barbarian & Fighter. Same thing for the Halberd; s/b Fighter & Monk.

Sincerely,
Greyseer

Well, his entire repertoire consists of show-tunes and Jimmy Buffet. I have asked him to consider giving other classes a chance.
