I think "...There is no limit to the number of anti-toxin tokens you can use per encounter(room)." is pretty clear as it is.

If you want to waste 20 and you have the time, there is nothing to stop you.

IF you have the time is the key phrase...

I think there is some FAST acting poision rule going along with some monsters...like you can only roll your normal save once - and then try one AntiTox...or SLOW Poison (for the cure).

Case in point - a rather wicked spider stung me once - and the DM said I had one ANTI-TOX shot at getting cured - or the poison took hold and I was dead. (Not that I could not be Death-doored, or Elixered...and I guess even a Savior stone would work VS a poison attack too!)

Same with Iuz; you only get 1 retry.
Aewsome, just wasn't sure you could do that (add mental note to have supply of such items on hand)

We were told in the final room this year that we could only use one anti-toxin.

We got the same ruling of one anti-tox try per poisoning. Which is why I was suggesting the other line. Meaning if you got bit, you had one retry with one anti-tox. If you survived and got bit again you could use another one, but only one. And if yiou got bit yet a thirtd time, you could use one and only one anti-tox (plus you must have done something to really anger that monster)

I know our party member would have appreciated the ruling of multiple Anti-toxins - if you can really use multiple anti-toxins per poisoning, that should be communicated to the DM's. We had a handful of anti-toxins, but since we were only allowed to use one per attack, we burned a savior stone to bring the person back. It would have been MUCH better to burn more anti-toxins than to burn that Savior Stone.

I think the rulings should be as follows...

Poison type 1 (SLOW - kills you if you leave the room without cure) = you may drink as many anti-tox as you have - and as time allows in the room = if you do not succeed by the 1 minute bell you die. (you can have scroll cast and/OR after death, savior stone, elixer, Death door etc.)

Poison type 2 (FAST - kills you after one normal save and one re-save.) = you may try on Anti-Tox or re-save roll item - and you can have a scroll cast IF that re-save item fails. (OR after death, savior stone, elixer, Death door etc.)

Poison type will depend on trap/monster as written in adventure.

I would like to suggest another category for poison in which the poison is not necessarily fatal. This can broaden and add dcreative detail to what happens in the dungeon. The poison may do something like the following if a save is not made: blindness, slowness, weakness, etc. Alternatively, it could kill you if the save is not made and do one of the other effects if the save IS made. The point is that not all poisons have to be lethal and the non lethal ones can enhance the game.

There should also be a type of poison that rarely gives you super powers. Sort of like how gamma radiation made the Hulk.

I like that idea. Variety is the spice of poison.

We don't need another category - just sub out "kills" with EFFECT.
