It should have been me! It should have been me! Why God Why?! Why hast thou forsaken me? Haven't I sacrificed enough small animals to you over the years? WHY?!

Well, you know where this person lives... create a distraction, then replace all the tokens with Nilla Wafers.

<br /><br />Wow.<br /><br />Homicide sounds like a viable option about now... I mean, really. How close is this friend? Closer than a GT? I think not!

Lady Myke is an awesome friend. <br /><br />She's the sort of awesome who would open a pack with a Golden Ticket in it, and hand it over to me with no questions asked.<br /><br />YAY!!! <br /><br />(You should totally replace your friend with the "Lady Myke" model, Henwy.)<br /><br />So, yeah, Myke and I opened the rest of our order together (the half-order, that is. I'm hoping the other half gets here tomorrow). We cracked open a few rolls of tokens, and breathed deeply of that addictive scent, and oooh'd and aaah'd over this year's new tokens. Then I reached into my box and pulled out an oddly sealed roll. "Cool - this one is packaged differently... maybe it's a 00!" I said, showing it to her. I tore the wrapper off, and sure enough, it contained an UR Ring of Wizardry!<br /><br />At the same time, Myke looked through her rolls of tokens, and found the one which she had noticed earlier was wrapped a little differently. She opened it, grinned like kid in a candy store, and held out the Golden Token for me.<br /><br />"It's yours, babe." she said.... and those words are still echoing in my ears.<br /><br />Isn't she the best friend in the whole world?<br /><br />So I gave her the Ring of Wizardry as thanks (I know, it's really not an even trade, but we'd agreed before we ordered the tokens that if we managed to get both an UR and a GT, then one of us would get the UR and the other the Ticket) and we finished opening our token packs. I think I may have even been able to focus on some of them, but I can't remember what they were at this point.<br /><br />I am way too wired.<br /><br />Can't wait for GenCon!!!<br /><br />

Woot!  I hope that Raven is running in the same group as me on the GT run.  Glad that another forumite got one!

Meh. I prefer GT's when they were an all wednesday night affair. Now those were fun. Sorta like a little pre-gencon party for all the TD diehards.

Arcbat and I noticed that "wrapped different" thing as well.  I suspect that they packaged all the tokens using some sort of automated device, and then selectively pulled and replaced by hand the ones which required ultra-rares and GTs.  Then they re-wrapped the resulting bundles using a different machine.  <br /><br />Only downside, is that after we figured it out it made opening the final 20-30 packs less of a thrill because we pretty much knew we weren't getting anything REALLY awesome.  Of course I still got excited each time we filled in a platinum hole.
