TOPIC: Effect of Gold Tickets on Token sales.

OK, my statistical ignorance might be showing here, I will trust people like Douglas to correct me if I am wrong, but you chances of getting a Golden Ticket should be solely influenced by the number of token packs you buy.  Provided there is a reasonable attempt at a randomized distribution, and the sample size was large enough, (e.g. there were more than 10 total packs available and the box was mixed well) then buying a $1000 order or 4X $250 orders really should not make a difference.  <br /><br />These of course all have to be purchased during the period where the GT are available, but you get the idea.  <br /><br />Now it is true, I believe, that as each GT surfaces, your overall chances of getting one decreases.  It is also true that a larger number of individual packs purchased do increase your overall probability of getting one, subject to the diminishing availability already mentioned.<br /><br />All things being equal, though, if you order 100 packs, your chances of getting a GT are the same no matter if you order all 100 at once or 25 at a time.<br /><br />I think others have already addressed the merits or lack thereof of splitting you order versus all at once when it comes to choice of UR tokens.<br />

It doesn't matter how you buy your tokens when trying to get a GT.  It is all randomized.<br /><br />And as they become known has "found" the chance to find one stays exactly the same as before -- since the ratios stay the same.  A percent is a percent is a percent.  So, just order your tokens and have fun.  If you find a GT -- congrats!

Crap, I just know that I am going to get pegged as Agustus Gloop.  I swear, I don't even really like chocolate that much though, I must admit that Wonka Bars are pretty delicious.<br /><br />Speaking of the movie, I thought it very fitting that the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was on on Feb. 1, the same day that I ordered my tickets.  I'd call that an omen.  <br /><br />Plus I have even read the book Willy Wanka and the Great Glass Elevator, so I feel that I have a golden ticket advantage :tongue3:

Jeff, you are aware that if you come out in a purple top hat and waistcoat and pretend to fall down only to do a full roll and spring right up in front of us you will be remembered forever.  Though, I suppose that the electronic bear parade might be interesting too.
