TOPIC: Effect of Gold Tickets on Token sales.

<br /><br />Yep.  Sixteen random packs have then inserted in place of a Common.  Heck, I guess it is even possible (although about the same chance as me ever doing a swimsuit calender) that a pack of tokens could contain 5 Commons, 2 Uncommons, 1 Rare, 1 Golden Ticket and 1 Ultra Rare.<br />

How about a calendar of anyone dressed in a tavern costume made (in whole or in part) by DD?    Would have to have the Green Griffon banners in the background too.

<br /><br />I know Marilyn absolutely loves hers.<br /><br />Back to tokens....After last years $250 dollar purchase at the con and getting the random UR, I have learned my lesson to get the money upfront and just pre-order.  I think we are looking at spending the $500, can't wait to get my hands on that Amulet of Wonder, now what to pick for my other...

There is a nice advantage for both Buyer and TD...Buyers get the added PYP perk, and TD gets to bank the bucks and build a budget to go get cool things for the dungeon!<br /><br />I think it works out really well - but could the word be going out even better than it is?  GenCon forum has postings of token sales - the TD website and this forum too...<br /><br />I guess just more word of mouth or maybe getting word of token specials on a GenCon e-mail might help...  Mari / Jeff is that already being done?

Why would one need to buy 4 $250 lots in order to have chance at getting a golden ticket. Wouldn't one have the same chance at getting this and/or additional URs when ordering one $1000 lot?

<br /><br />I'm guessing that George really meant a $1000 lot, but said it as 4 $250 lots to emphasize the 4 PURPs, one for each $250.  <br /><br />If you place 4 $250 orders at one time, the disadvantage of not placing it as a $1000 order is, technically, you won't get any Proof tokens since those only came in the $500 and $1000 orders (although I'll bet Lori would work with you on that).  <br /><br />If you place 4 $250 orders at different times instead of one $1000 order, one disadvantage is it will cost you an extra $30 in shipping.  Other than that, it adds in extra variability.  Last year at least, the tokens for the orders tended to come off consecutively and one in each hundred bags had a PURP, so if you ordered $1000, you got 120 bags of tokens, and that was pretty much guaranteed to have a PURP, and if you were lucky it might have two.  If you ordered four orders of $250, each order had a 30% chance of a PURP, but each also might have no PURPs.  So, you did have a slim chance at getting 3 or 4 PURPs in the four $250 orders (if you were VERRRY lucky) but you were also running a risk of getting no PURPs at all if none of the sets of 30 bags had a PURP in them.  <br /><br />As far as Golden Tickets go, if you buy four $250 orders or a $1000 order, they should have exactly as much of a chance at a Golden Ticket.  I guess there is a VERY slim chance at more than one Golden Ticket with the multiple $250 orders while it is probably just zero or one Golden Ticket with one $1000 order, if the Golden Tokens are distributed pretty evenly.
